As a frequent traveler, I’ve learned that a few extra tips and resources can really help with logistics and travel planning. Oftentimes, you don’t know what you need until you get to your destination. That is where, as Airbnb hosts, we can go above and beyond for our Airbnb guests by letting them know in advance about extra services they may want and appreciate!
So, today we are going to talk about how to be a better Airbnb host by thinking like a traveler! And if you are a traveler who stumbled upon this post, here are some extra services to use for your next trip!
When I’m staying at a hotel, I can usually ask the concierge my questions. But when I’m staying at an Airbnb, I often rely on the host to point me toward helpful services that can make my trip easier. And, as an Airbnb guest, the extra guidance is very much appreciated!
Whether it’s arranging airport transportation, having groceries delivered upon arrival, booking family photos, or finding luggage storage after checkout, these extra services for Airbnbs can save time, reduce stress, and improve the overall travel experience. This leads to happy guests and those 5-star reviews that we all strive for!

Why Airbnb Hosts Should Recommend Extra Services To Their Airbnb Guests
As Airbnb hosts, we’re often one of the first resources guests turn to when planning their trip. While providing a clean rental, a great Airbnb house manual, and clear check-in instructions are important, sharing a few extra services can help guests have an even better experience.
Sharing these is a win-win for Airbnb hosts and Airbnb guests!
As a frequent traveler myself, I always appreciate it when an Airbnb host recommends helpful resources before I arrive. Whether it’s tips for airport transportation, grocery delivery, luggage storage, parking strategies, or local tours, these recommendations can save time, reduce stress, and make a trip run more smoothly.
Here in 2026, Airbnb is rolling out extra features like this within the Airbnb app, allowing your guests access to even more. That said, I haven’t used that feature yet, and these are my own tried-and-true travel favorites that I feel confident recommending to other Airbnb hosts and Airbnb guests!

My Favorite Airbnb Extra Services
Many travelers simply don’t know these services exist! By sharing them with your Airbnb guests in advance, Airbnb hosts can answer common questions, help guests plan, and provide the kind of guidance people often expect from a hotel concierge.
This is one of the great ways to make your Airbnb feel like a hotel!
Plus, these are extra services that enhance a guest’s stay but aren’t things you need to actually manage yourself. As the host, you are simply sharing a resource or service recommendation with your Airbnb guests. This makes it very hands of for you!
So, here are the nine extra services I think every Airbnb host should tell guests about—and why guests will appreciate the recommendation!
#1 Airport Transportation
One of the first things many Airbnb guests need to figure out is how to get from the airport to their Airbnb rental. While some travelers are perfectly comfortable navigating public transportation, trains, Uber, Lyft, rental cars, or taxis, others prefer having transportation arranged in advance.
As a traveler, one of my least favorite things is landing in a new destination after a long flight and trying to figure out transportation on the spot. Having a trusted recommendation from the host can eliminate that stress entirely!
One of my favorite airport transfer services is Welcome Pickups. Guests can arrange transportation before their trip and have a driver waiting for them upon arrival.
I especially like recommending additional services, such as Welcome Pickups, to families. When you’re traveling with kids, luggage, strollers, and car seats, the last thing you want to do is navigate an unfamiliar airport, train station, or transportation system. Having a driver ready and waiting can make the arrival process significantly easier.
Of course, guests may ultimately choose Uber, Lyft, public transportation, trains, or a rental car. However, knowing what your guests can expect and being able to provide airport transportation recommendations helps get their stay off to the right foot!
TIP: If you want to monitor flight deals to your location, we love Thrifty Traveler alerts!

#2 Luggage Storage
Of course, we always try to help guests with early check-in and late checkout requests when possible, but it’s not guaranteed, and guests often arrive quite early or have evening flights on the day of departure. One of the main differences between hotels and most Airbnbs is that many hotels have bellmen or a front desk that can hold luggage.
So, for short-term rentals, luggage storage is one of the most overlooked parts of a trip! This is one of those services many guests don’t realize exists, but they’re always grateful to learn about it.
We’ve used luggage storage throughout Europe and here in the United States when we had several hours between checkout and a flight. Instead of dragging our suitcases through a city, we were able to continue sightseeing and enjoy our final day.
One of my favorite luggage storage services is Bounce. It allows travelers to securely store their luggage at convenient locations around the world for a few hours or even an entire day. We use Bunce quite often when we travel!
In fact, here we are, just a few weeks ago, arriving in Porto, Portugal! Our flight from the US landed in the morning, and we dropped our luggage off at the Bounce location a block from our rental apartment in Porto. Then we spent the day exploring the city until we could check in!

#3 Vacation Photography
Professional vacation photography is one of my favorite trip extras, and so many people don’t realize that services like Flytographer exist!
I’ve personally used Flytographer in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, a few years ago, and again just this month in Cascais, Portugal. As a traveler and the mom who is always behind the camera, I know how rare it is to get everyone in a photo.
Some of our favorite family photos were taken during those trips, and we’ll treasure them forever. Here are a couple of my favorites from our Flytographer session in Portugal this month!

First, browse Flytographer yourself as an Airbnb host and see if they offer services in your area! If your short-term rental is located near a large city or in a popular vacation destination, chances are they do!
And as a host, I like that I can just send them to the site, and they can search for dates and styles on their own to find what they are looking for. Their platform makes it easy to browse photographers worldwide, view their portfolios, check availability, and find a photography style that fits your family’s needs.
Vacation photos are especially popular for:
- Family vacations
- Multi-generational trips
- Anniversaries
- Honeymoons
- Special occasions
Travel photos with Flytographer are an extra treat that many travelers don’t think about booking ahead of time, but the resulting photos often become some of the most treasured souvenirs from a trip!
#4 Grocery Delivery
Many Airbnb guests don’t want to stop at the grocery store right after arriving, especially after a long travel day, so being able to provide accurate recommendations for grocery delivery or other essentials can be very helpful!
Some of my favorite grocery delivery services include Instacart, Shipt, Walmart+, and Target’s same-day delivery. Airbnb has also started offering grocery delivery through the Airbnb app, though I haven’t personally tried it yet.
As a host, it’s helpful to know which nearby stores offer delivery so you can share those options with guests. I also recommend asking guests to schedule grocery deliveries for after they arrive to avoid issues with perishable items sitting outside before check-in.

#5 Baby Gear Rentals
Traveling with children often means bringing a lot of extra gear! And while we try to provide some of these extra items, such as a mini crib in my baby-friendly rentals, we can’t possibly include everything a guest might want.
For most families traveling with young kids, renting baby gear at your destination can make travel significantly easier. Instead of checking bulky items like cribs, strollers, and high chairs, families can simply rent what they need upon arrival.
My favorite baby gear rental service is BabyQuip. They offer everything from cribs and strollers to toys, beach gear, and other family travel essentials.
This is one of the easiest services Airbnb hosts can recommend to families traveling with young children! Plus, it eliminates your need to stock all of these items, ensures they are clean, and most importantly, verifies that they are in safe working order between guests.
If you’re interested in learning more, be sure to read my complete guide to using BabyQuip for family travel.
TIP: While BabyQuip does advertise and tries to set up things prior to arrival, I always ask my guests to schedule delivery after arrival and pickup before departure. This ensures that my cleaners are dealing with added obstacles and logistics!

#6 Tours & Experiences
As a frequent traveler myself, one of the first things I do when planning a trip is look for tours and experiences. We love booking GetYourGuide tours for everything from boat rides and food tours to walking tours and day trips.
Even on our recent 3-week trip to Portugal, we booked 6 different GetYourGuide experiences, including this amazing day on a boat in Lagos and a fantastic Douro Valley wine tour!
Both GetYourGuide and Viator make it easy for your Airbnb guests to discover highly rated experiences, compare reviews, and book activities before arriving at your destination. That said, we also use GetYourGuide to book last-minute tours on almost every trip!
This is a great resource for Airbnb hosts to share with guests because many travelers are looking for things to do but don’t know where to start. A simple recommendation or a link to your city’s landing page on either platform can help guests find memorable experiences and make the most of their trip.
For example, if you are hosting in Panama City Beach, Florida, you can share this link with your guests. Look at all the experiences they can book!

#7 Dining Reservations
One of the top questions I get as an Airbnb host is about dining recommendations. And while I always give my favorites, it’s hard to know which ones will be available during their stay.
Something I’ve learned from traveling is that some of the best restaurants can book up weeks or even months in advance. I’ve also arrived in destinations only to discover that every popular restaurant was already fully booked during our stay.
That’s why I always recommend dining reservation platforms like OpenTable and Resy. These services make it easy to browse restaurants, read reviews, and secure reservations before a trip.
Dining reservations are especially important for:
- Popular tourist destinations
- Peak travel seasons
- Foodie couples
- Holiday weeks
- Special occasions
- Highly sought-after restaurants
This simple recommendation can help guests avoid disappointment and enjoy some of the best dining experiences a destination has to offer. Letting them know they can secure dining recommendations on these platforms early is so much better than having disappointed guests who can’t eat at the places you recommended.

#8 Resort Day Passes
ResortPass is another travel service many guests have never heard of, but it’s incredibly useful once you know it exists!
We’ve used ResortPass on travel days when we had hours between checkout and a flight, and it’s a great way to turn an otherwise wasted day into part of the vacation. This is another great solution to offer when your guests arrive very early or stay until evening, but you aren’t able to accommodate early check-ins or late check-outs.
I also like the idea of Airbnb hosts recommending ResortPass to guests who want access to resort amenities that their Airbnb doesn’t offer. You may have a beautiful rental home, perfect for their extended family, but maybe it’s a mile off the beach and in a neighborhood without extra amenities.
For a relatively affordable price, your guests can enjoy a luxury pool, beach club, spa, or other resort amenities! Many travelers don’t even realize this is an option, which makes it a fun and unexpected recommendation for Airbnb hosts to share!

#9 Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is one of those things you hope you’ll never need when traveling, but you’re grateful to have when something goes wrong!
But, as an Airbnb host, I don’t think it’s our responsibility to underwrite a guest’s trip. In my post about choosing the best Airbnb cancellation policy, I talk about how devastating last-minute cancellations can be to our family’s bottom line.
That said, things can and do happen! The more we travel, the more I’ve realized that flight cancellations, weather delays, lost luggage, and unexpected illnesses can happen to anyone. Travel insurance can help a guest protect their investment and provide valuable peace of mind, especially for expensive trips.
This is another helpful resource Airbnb hosts can share with guests while they’re planning their trip, especially if they’re traveling from far away.
And here in summer 2026, Airbnb is rolling out a new trip protection option that lets guests pay an extra fee to cancel even at the last minute while still protecting the host’s payout. I will update more as I see this new option play out in my Airbnb rentals and on my own travels!

How Should You Share These Extra Services With Airbnb Guests?
Many of these recommendations can be shared before a guest ever arrives. After I send my quick, friendly welcome message when a booking comes in, most guests reply with questions about recommendations and tips. This is when I put together custom recommendations for them and mention these Airbnb extras!
For some that you know will likely want or need to use, you can include these helpful resources in your Airbnb House Manual, digital guidebooks, and pre-arrival messages so guests can take advantage of them as they plan their trip.
Will You Tell Airbnb Guests About These Extra Services?
Sometimes the smallest recommendations can make the biggest difference for guests!
Many travelers don’t know these extra services exist, and a simple suggestion from a host can help save time, reduce stress, and improve the overall travel experience. From airport transportation and grocery delivery to luggage storage and vacation photography, these resources can help guests make the most of their trip.
Whether you’re an Airbnb host looking to improve the guest experience or a traveler planning your next adventure, these extra services can make travel easier, more convenient, and far less stressful.
