Are you looking for the best bedding for Airbnb rental properties and tips from an actual top-rated Airbnb host? You’ve come to the right place! In this Airbnb hosting blog post, I am sharing the best Airbnb bedding ideas, including the best sheets for Airbnb rentals and where I buy all of our Airbnb bedding!
Hi, I’m Sarah! I am an Airbnb superhost with four condos on 30A. Here in 2026, we have hosted thousands of guests. With almost 1,000 reviews, we maintain a 4.98 average star rating. You can’t please 100% of the people 100% of the time, right?
But you can do everything possible to provide a 5-star experience for your Airbnb guests, and today, I want to talk about Airbnb bedding!

Why listen to me? Well, to put it simply, our guests love our beds and bedding. They mention how comfortable they are in so many of our Airbnb reviews and private messages!
And, if you are just getting started as a new Airbnb host, you need to check out my Airbnb Setup Checklist. On top of that, I have a whole collection of Airbnb shopping lists available on Amazon. Just click the link below!

Best Bedding for Airbnb Homes and Condos
When it comes to Airbnb bedding, I have found a combination that works great for me. For seven years now, I have used it in all of the beds in our four vacation rentals in Seacrest Beach, Florida. There are many factors to consider when purchasing bedding for your vacation rentals.
Today, I want to talk about all of those as well as share exactly what we use – with links!
SHORT ON TIME? And if you don’t have time to read this entire post, all of my favorite Airbnb bedding is saved here for easy access!
4 Things to Consider When Buying Bedding for Airbnb Rental Properties
I wish it were as easy as just picking out something cute and making a bed, but there is a lot more to think about before buying your Airbnb bedsheets, comforters, and even the mattress itself.
So, here are some things to think through before adding that cute bedding to your shopping cart!

#1 Get Input From Your Vacation Rental Cleaners
When deciding on what bedding you want to use in your rentals, your first order of business should be a chat with your cleaning service.
Why?
Because if they also launder your bedding, they will probably be very specific about what works best for them.
For example, when we first bought our Airbnb with bunk beds back in 2021, I had all of this cute Airbnb bedding picked out for our new short-term rental. I was even ready to splurge for Beddys for the bunk beds when my cleaners told me to buy all white!
I was caught off guard because white is very unforgiving. But they said it is much easier to bleach, and I ended up really liking how bright and fresh it looked in my Airbnb. Plus, I have come to learn that people associate white bedding with cleanliness and hotel standards.
READ: How To Make Your Airbnb Feel Like A Hotel
My cleaners also told me they prefer I use a duvet insert + duvet cover setup rather than a heavy-duty comforter or quilt. A coverlet was an option, but I wanted something that felt cozy for my guest and had some substance. To be honest, I often find the thin coverlets to look flat and cheap. And I personally hate triple-sheeting as some hotels do, because I know the insert isn’t always washed between guests!
Often, cleaning companies rotate between three full sets of linens, taking the dirty ones to be washed between guests. This bulky bedding can be cumbersome and take a very long time to dry, thereby holding up their workflow. And, linens are one of the items that need to be replaced most often.
This is why Airbnb sheets, bedding, and pretty much all linens are included in my list of Airbnb essentials that I always buy backups of!

#2 Consider Your Airbnb Market
Vacation rentals can range from baseline budget accommodations to full-on luxury experiences. It’s important to consider your market and price point when deciding how much to invest in bedding for your Airbnb. However, I am not sure it really makes much of a difference if you can find something that is both comfortable and inexpensive.
The key is that your Airbnb bedding is both clean and cozy. And I do think I found a great combination. However, if you are targeting a more expensive market or a full luxury experience, you may want to consider other options, such as high-thread-count 100% cotton sheets.
#3 Buy Easy-to-Replace Airbnb Bedding
You will find that your cleaning company will want three sets of bedding, or more, if you welcome shorter stays. We actually start our units out with four or five full sets, washed and stocked in the cleaner’s closet. But I am constantly adding more. I would rather spend $30 on a new sheet set than have stained sheets stay in rotation.
The biggest culprit when using white sheets in your vacation rental is makeup. Most of the sheets and pillowcases we have discarded had self-tanner or makeup stains, and while bleach removes most of that, it’s not always 100% successful.
What I mean by replacing here is that it’s easy to buy more of that item as needed. You wouldn’t want to buy a specific floral print comforter set for your Airbnb and then have it go out of stock when you need to replace it. Now, I am a personal fan of all-white, so that is easy to coordinate.

My Airbnb rentals on 30A in Florida are all studio or one-bedroom, so white makes them feel brighter and larger, but I have seen other Airbnb hosts share a different tip that is worth noting here.
One successful host said to use a different color of bedding in each bedroom to help differentiate the spaces in your photos, which I totally understand! So, keep that in mind, and maybe use all the sheets and inserts I recommend, but then choose a different color duvet cover. The duvet cover we use in our Airbnbs comes in a bunch of different colors!
And in conjunction with “easy to replace,” is your bedding affordable to replace?
Your Airbnb bedding will get dirty. It’s inevitable. Personally, I prefer replacing sheets often at a lower price point over having a higher-end product that isn’t pristine for a longer period, simply because I just paid a small fortune for it.
Just something to think about because any successful Airbnb host will tell you that you will be replacing bedsheets often. You have to think of Airbnb linens almost as consumables!
#4 Look at Airbnb Bedding Reviews
It’s easy to say that an 800-thread-count Egyptian cotton sheet is better than a microfiber sheet set, but is the difference really that much? Read the reviews! The bedsheets we use have over 89,000 ratings and a solid 4.5 stars average review. This says a lot!
You have to ask yourself, is that good enough? I would argue that it is. There is always something better out there, but in general, if that many people are happy with them, your guests will be too!

Our Favorite Airbnb Bedding in 2026
So now I want to share the exact bedding combination I use in all of our vacation rentals near the 30A beaches in Florida. As I mentioned above, we use all-white and have been happy with it, but I think your cleaning company is critical to making that decision.
I think it is essential to have a strategy when buying bedding for Airbnbs. You don’t want to be replacing bedding with something different constantly, and if you want to scale up your vacation rental business like I have, getting a new one up and running is SO MUCH EASIER when you have a standard across the board.
Plus, returning guests know what to expect when booking a repeat stay with you. Maintaining a consistent quality of stay is critical for superhosts who want to provide a five-star guest experience on Airbnb.
And I have to say that I love all of this bedding so much that we actually replaced almost all of our bedding at home with this exact combination!
Our Airbnb Sheets
SHEETS: We get our bed sheets from Amazon and use the HC Collection Sheets Set – Bedding Sheets & Pillowcases, Fade-Resistant & Machine Washable – 4-Piece, 1800 Series.
We have these in twin, queen, and king sizes, and while we do sometimes have to throw them away due to stains, the quality has held up very well to frequent washings. They show very minimal signs of wear and, if anything, get softer over time.
We have several backup sets in the cleaner’s closet at any given time and have never had issues with them being back-ordered or difficult to get, which is very important to me. I have been using these for years and still love them!
Other great alternatives are the Mellanni Sheet Sets or the CGK Unlimited Sheet Sets, also available on Amazon! If you are looking for 100% cotton sheets, check out the California Design Den Sheet Sets.
In my separate Guide to Airbnb Sheets, I give several other options and more Airbnb hosting tips!

Our Airbnb Duvet Inset & Duvet Cover
Earlier in the post, I shared that our cleaners prefer this configuration. While I was never a fan of duvet covers (because I thought they were a pain to assemble), I have come to love them. I even use them at home now!
Now, triple sheeting, I hate that. There have been so many times when we are at a hotel, and the kids basically manhandle the bed, ending up using just the insert. This honestly grosses me out because I know the inserts aren’t washed between guests.
DUVET INSERT: We use the Utopia Bedding Comforter Duvet Insert – Quilted Comforters with Corner Tabs – Machine Washable Box Stitched Down Alternative Comforter. It has over 155,000 reviews and has earned 4.6 stars.
They’re very easy to launder, and we have two duvet inserts on hand for every bed. They swap out the inserts pretty frequently, and always when soiled or stained.
DUVET COVER: For a duvet cover, we use the Nestl Duvet Cover 3 Piece Set – Ultra Soft Double Brushed Microfiber Hotel-Quality – Comforter Cover with Button Closure and 2 Pillow Shams. It comes in 44 colors, so it is a great option if you want to use a variety of colors in your space or if you aren’t feeling the white. An alternative option is the top-rated Bedsure Duvet Cover Set.
If you decide against the duvet system, purchase a lightweight coverlet that you can wash between each and every guest. I particularly like this KASENTEX lightweight quilt, and it comes in a variety of colors.

Our Airbnb Mattress Pad & Protector
I have a separate Aibnb hosting guide that shares my 3-layer Airbnb mattress protection system! So make sure to read that!
As with the duvet inserts, we stock our units with two mattress pads per bed, with them changed out equally as frequently.
MATTRESS PAD: For the top layer mattress pad, we use the Utopia Bedding Quilted Fitted Mattress Pad – Elastic Fitted Mattress Protector – Mattress Cover Stretches up to 16 Inches Deep – Machine Washable Mattress Topper. While it is not waterproof, we also have a waterproof one we use underneath.
WATERPROOF LAYER: Under that, we use a thinner waterproof mattress pad like the LDC Lux Decor Collection Bamboo Mattress Protector.
MATTRESS PROTECTOR: Then, to fully encase and protect the mattress, we use the AllerEase Ultimate Allergy Protection and Comfort Zippered Mattress Protector.
In my opinion, the AllerEase Allergy Protection products are by far the best on the market. Not only does it protect your mattress from spills and stains, but it also provides protection against bedbugs, dust mites, and other pests. And we haven’t had a single issue with those yet!
Our Airbnb Pillows
We have four pillows on each main bed and one on each twin. And, I have a separate Airbnb hosting guide for choosing the best pillows for your Airbnb!
For the queen beds, twin beds, and sofa beds, I use a standard queen pillow, but I make sure that each queen bed also has our favorite cooling gel pillows from Target.
Matt, Abby, Jake, and I all have one of these on our beds at home and LOVE them. We want to be comfortable when we stay at our 30A beach condos, so we made sure to have two of them on each of the main beds. We use 2 of these pillows in king-size versions for our King beds. We include 4 pillows on each bed at our condos on 30A.
And our guests love them too! I am frequently asked about them, and I’m always happy to share the link! I think these are a nice little splurge that makes our beds extra comfortable.
Remember to pick up zippered pillow protectors for your pillows and have a backup set on hand as well! We use the same AllerEase brand for our mattress protectors and really like how soft they are, not stiff or crunchy like some cheaper versions!

Our Airbnb Mattress
These days, there are a ton of vacation rental mattress options! With the rise of the mattress in a box, getting them to and from your vacation rentals is easier than ever. I know some people prefer a traditional mattress, but I’m a big fan of these two new, affordable memory foam mattresses in a box.
This is the same point I made earlier: I would rather replace something often with a mid-range item than splurge on something expensive and incur that cost when it’s time to replace it.
For our first condo, we used a Wayfair sleep mattress and are still very happy with it!
However, we then switched to a Zinus mattress from Amazon for the bunks and beds in our next three Airbnb rentals. We have been very happy with them! You can NOT beat the value for the price, and this mattress has great reviews.
MATTRESS: The exact Airbnb mattress we use is the Zinus 12-inch Green Tea Memory Foam Mattress. It also comes in 10″ and smaller sizes, but we prefer the 12″ version because it looks more substantial, especially if you are using a platform bed without a box spring.
I actually have a dedicated blog post about choosing the best mattress for your Airbnb, so be sure to check that out!
Airbnb Sofa Bed Bedding
We also upgraded the mattress on our sleeper sofa to a 4.5″ memory foam sofa bed mattress, and my kids have already given it 5 stars! This was a major improvement from the standard mattress with the springs that dig into your back.

For our sofa bed, we use the same sheet sets and two queen pillows. We do not use a duvet for the sofa beds; instead, we have these super-soft Bedsure blankets available. They are tested and approved by my own two kids!
I frequently get asked for the purchase link after my guests’ kids fall in love with them.
I also include two of these soft Pillowfort bed liners in each unit at all times. These are specifically for parents to use over the sheets when a child may wet the bed, which nobody wants – guest or host! I mention these in my Airbnb House Manual, and parents frequently tell me that they appreciate having those available!
Do you host a lot of young families, or do you plan to? I have a great guide for making your Airbnb baby-friendly. And, I will say that offering that mini crib and having basic baby gear on hand has allowed us to stay booked all year long. Such a great investment!

Our Airbnb Beds
And because I know you all will ask, I want to share our beds real quick, too! I do have an Airbnb Furniture Guide, which shares my favorite places to buy furniture for an Airbnb.
In our studio condos, we used the Gray Barn Hidden Cove Arch Cut-Out Platform Bed from Overstock.com (now Bed, Bath and Beyond)! I absolutely love it, but it’s been out of stock. I don’t know if it will return, so we had to find a different bed for our newer one-bedroom condos near Rosemary Beach. The unit had a newer queen bed when we bought it, but we wanted to upgrade to a king bed.

Choosing a bed for this space was very difficult. I wanted a king-sized bed, but the space would be a little tight. I knew I needed a platform-style bed without a bulky footboard, and I am personally not a fan of the bed frame + headboard-only setup.
Going with a platform bed in an Airbnb rental avoids the need for a box spring and keeps a lower profile within the room.
I looked high and low and finally settled on the ZINUS Debi Upholstered Platform Bed Frame / Mattress Foundation / Wood Slat Support / No Box Spring Needed / Easy Assembly Bed. It is now showing out of stock, but keep watching. Otherwise, you can’t go wrong with any of the ZINUS upholstered platform beds.
I also wrote a blog post recently about Choosing the Best Bed for Your Airbnb. In that post, I link to several alternative bed options. You can even view my best Airbnb beds list on Amazon, and it’s so good!
Don’t forget to buy blackout curtains for your Airbnb bedrooms, and make sure to read my post about Airbnb closet must-haves. A perfectly stocked closet is a great way to set your bedroom apart and earn you 5-star reviews!

PIN: Best Bedding for Airbnb Rentals

Thank you for all of this amazing advice! What about cookware, kitchen items, etc?
My pleasure Melissa! I need to write a post about what we use in our kitchens! I will leave you a reply here when I do. Our units are small so aren’t set up for a lot of cooking / pots and pans but I have some small appliances that I like and plate ware/silverware/dishware tips and am happy to answer any questions here in the meantime!
I’m so glad I came across your website! We’re setting up our first Airbnb rental and your advice for bedding was spot on…I ordered everything you recommended and am beyond pleased so far! I would love to know what brand sofa beds you use, I’m having a hard time finding a good quality, reasonably priced one. Oh, and I lived on the beautiful Emerald Coast for nearly 20 years before moving to Tennessee and it’s still my most favorite place to vacation. One day I hope to own a condo on 30A as well, until then I’ll keep your Retreats in mind! Cheers 🙂
Hi Connie! Thank you so much for your comment! I LOVE hearing that this helps! And congrats on setting up your first rental. Being a host is such a fun experience and owning vacation rentals is such a great investment! So, to answer your question… Is it a sofa bed that you think will be used often and for adults or geared toward kids? In our smallest studio, we have this convertible sofa that is geared towards kids and I love it because most of our guests are couples but we do allow up to 2 children to share this convertible sectional. Here is that post with the link: https://www.ourlittlelifestyle.com/2020/09/11/our-340-sq-ft-beach-condo-remodel-before-and-after/ And in our 1 bedroom we actually used the sofa bed that the previous owner had just purchased and I don’t know the brand, however, we did switch out the mattress inside of it for a memory foam one that is a LOT more comfortable to sleep on! Here is the link to that post where we link the mattress: https://www.ourlittlelifestyle.com/2021/08/24/check-out-our-newest-seacrest-beach-vacation-rental-on-30a/ and something like that would probably be your best bet if you expect it to be used frequently.
Thanks so much for taking all the time to share this information and add the links. You have completed many items on my check list. A few other experienced vacation rental owners advised I should buy bed bug mattress, box spring and pillow protectors and you don’t mention them. What are your thoughts on bed bug protection.
Hi Mar! Thanks for reading and this is a GREAT question! I still use everything that I mention in this post but do also use the AllerEase mattress protectors and always use their pillow protectors as well. We have never had an issue with bed bugs so it seems to be working! I just updated my post with links for both of those.
This advice is awesome! Do you know if that company sells similar bed frames in twin?
Thank you so much! I don’t however, if I were buying twin bed frames I would look at one of these two by Zinnus. I have them in King size for 2 of my unit and love them! Very sturdy and the USB outlet is pretty cool for kids to use!

Hi there,
This is such valuable info. Thank you so much! I have a question: why do you have multiple duvet inserts and mattress protectors that get swapped out frequently? Do you mean replaced frequently? Or you just swap them back and forth to let them air out or something?
Thank you!!
Yes, I swap them out to be laundered!
Oops – I was misunderstanding. You can disregard my question about protectors 🙂
Thank you so much for all the info and links. I was super excited when I read your recommendation for towels and then to see the price. Unfortunately with them being discontinued I can only buy two. Do you have a new favorite that you have found yet? Thank you in advance.
Hello Brenda! I don’t at this point. I was able to buy 50 of these towels about a month ago and am stocked up on them for now. I do plan to buy some different ones and test them out down the road but haven’t had the opportunity yet. I am still hoping that Bed Bath and Beyond brings these back again under a different “brand” like they did the year before.
I own a cleaning business for vacation rentals and you are perfectly right on with your advice.
Asking the cleaners about what works best is a great way to start. You have made it so easy to understand.
That property looks really great, clean and elegant.
I have seen white towels in bulk at Costco. Have you ever looked at those as an option? I am getting ready to set up our condo rental and was curious.
I have and know many people who use them, but I prefer this waffle style as they dry much quicker. It’s mainly for my guests because we don’t have a washer and dryer inside our units and I want them to be able to dry hanging quick enough for their next shower. I do have a dedicated post all about towels here on my blog as well! Just click the link toward the bottom of this post or search towels on my site!
This post is incredibly helpful as I looked to replace bedding in an STR that I just purchased fully furnished – thank you!!
Do you happen to have go-to blankets, for beds and/or living room throws?
You are welcome Sarah! I am glad that you found it helpful. These are the blankets we use for our sofa beds and we don’t have any throws laying around. https://amzn.to/45bWHe3
This link isn’t working. We also have an Airbnb in Port St Lucie Fl.
What link isn’t working Cheryl? Can you let me know? I just checked the entire post and they all seem to be good!
Love all the advice and links! Could you be more specific on the Target pillows please? It just brings up a search result…..Thanks!
Thank you! Try the link again. They moved them to a new listings and I changed the link to go to that one! They look very slightly different but I believe are the same. They are also available in stores.
I was going to buy the HC brand sheets from Amazon that you recommended in this article but the washing instructions say “Do Not Bleach”. You did say in your article that you buy White sheets so that they can be bleach to remove stains. I get many stains on my White Airbnb sheets and I have been buying rather expensive sheets so was looking for a new sheet. Can you confirm that your cleaning company does bleach these exact sheets?
Yes, we do! And we have them at home as well and have had no problem bleaching them.
Sarah,
I have extra pillows and blankets in the closet. I’m having trouble finding something to store my king size pillows in. Do you have any recommendations? I’ve seen it should not be all plastic, what do you think?
Nice post!
Thank you!
For king pillows, this is the closest think I could find size wise https://amzn.to/3u2sKQw. But, if you have king pillows on the bed already, you may just want to do standard pillows as the backups in the closet!
Do you have recommendations for bedding to be used on bunk beds? I’ve considered the zippered style of bedding but I’m concerned about the fabric quality (comfort, cooling, and breathability) and would prefer less-juvenile print designs…preferring basic white and adding color with throws and pillows.
I had originally wanted to use the zippered bedding style for our bunk beds as well, but my cleaners asked that I use the same bedding that I use on the other beds. So, I use the exact same white sheets, duvets, and duvet covers (in twin size) on our bunk beds. It’s worked out great for us!
This is such great advice as we enter into our first rental.
Do you have any experience with twin size sleeper convertible chairs? I’m thinking in our tiny space having 2 chairs vs a loveseat size sofa sleeper might be more versatile.
Thank you for sharing your advice!
You are very welcome Joni and thanks for reading! I would say that if you are using that living area sleeping for children only, you can go that route. Personally, we reserve the sofa beds for children only both to prevent sagging and because they aren’t usually comfortable for adults in general. I think if you have a way that they can open straight out without requiring furniture to be moved around, go for it! If it’s a tiny space like my studios are, just make sure it’s clear that the listing is suitable for 2 adults + up to 2 children to encourage either couples or families with young kids to book. This helps manage expectations and avoids people booking for 4 adults which usually not a good idea in a small space due to room for luggage, shared bathroom, etc.
Hello Sarah,
Great website by the way. I’m just preparing my first rental unit and this information is priceless. Thank you.
Hi Sarah,
Thank you for your very useful tips and information. Really appreciate it! Quick question on the doing laundry: do you wash your duvet after each guest in addition to duvet cover? I have stayed in a number of places where washing the insert does not seem to be the norm. I would personally love to be in a Airbnb that does that but I realize many do not. I would love to offer that in my own STR but was wondering how that would impact the laundry cost. My STR (not yet operational) will be for 10 people (with 2 kings, 1 queen, and 2 sets of twin bunks).
Thank you for your advice in advance!
Kavitha
Basically, pretty much all rental properties and hotels (especially the ones that do triple sheeting) do not wash those between every guest. We have multiple that they swap out and launder as needed. But, this would be something that you would have to ask your cleaners about. I would guess that most will not want to do it as they tie up their dryers for quite some time which defeats the purpose of using the duvet covers. You may want to consider doing lightweight quilts instead of duvets if this is a priority to you!
Sarah, you’re the real MVP for these posts and links! I’m sure saving us all hours and hours on the internet shopping. Thank you. My question… do you swap out the mattress pad/protector between every guest? Or are they treated more like the duvet insert and swapped out/washed as needed or every few guests?
Thank you and good question! The zippered full wrap around mattress protector rarely gets changed. The mattress pad goes over that and gets swapped out similar to the duvet cover.
Hi Sarah,
Is there a reason that you don’t just use a waterproof Bedding Quilted Fitted Mattress Pad instead of using 2?
Bill
Hi Bill! So, most quilted mattress pads that are soft and comfy don’t actually end up being truly waterproof. So, I have an extra truly waterproof layer (cheap and thin) between that and my mattress encasement to make sure that my mattress encasement always stays clean and dry! Here is my full strategy: https://ourlittlelifestyle.com/best-mattress-protectors-mattress-pads-pillow-protectors-airbnb/
