Decorating your new vacation rental is one of the best parts, but it can feel overwhelming with so many choices! With short-term rentals, it’s important to choose furniture that looks good and is both practical and durable. Today, I want to share some of my favorite Airbnb coffee tables at Wayfair, along with some tips for choosing the best coffee table for your Airbnb!

Choosing Your Airbnb Coffee Tables

So, there are four main things to consider before purchasing a coffee table for your rental property! Then, I will share all of my favorites that check those boxes. In most cases, you will have one coffee table in your rental. However, if you have a basement, loft area, or bonus room, you may need to buy more than one.

1. Will You Have A Sleeper Sofa?

This is the first thing to figure out before buying your Airbnb coffee tables! Why? If you have a sleeper sofa in your rental, people will have to move the coffee table to use the sofa bed.

Having a sleeper sofa means you need to consider the weight and make sure that it’s easy to move. However, you also need to ask yourself where guests are most likely to place it. If it’s a big round coffee table, there may not be a good place, and you may be better off with two nesting coffee tables for your Airbnb living room. Does that make sense?

Because if they don’t have a good place to move it to, your Airbnb guests will most likely start moving around all of your furniture. I hate walking into my Airbnbs only to see that my guests and cleaners have somehow redesigned them while I was away.

2. Consider The Airbnb Coffee Tables Weight

So, let’s dig into the best weight. Unfortunately, even if you don’t have a sleeper sofa, people move this piece of furniture the most. Maybe they want an area for little ones to crawl around. Maybe they snuck in an air mattress. Who knows!?!

It may be tempting to get a super heavy one to prevent guests from moving it around, but they may just damage the floor. So, if you have a sleeper sofa or plan on gusts moving your coffee table, I would make sure it’s under 30 lbs. I will include my Wayfair coffee table reccomendations below!

In most other situations, you can buy nice, sturdy, and durable Airbnb coffee tables without worrying about their weight. Wayfair does list the weight on most product listings.

3. Durable Airbnb Coffee Tables

So, what do I mean by durable? Not that you want this to happen, but it should be able to withstand a kid sitting on it because you know they will. Also, if you don’t have proper luggage racks or are using a sleeper sofa in the living space, your Airbnb guests will put their suitcases on your coffee table. So, make sure it’s sturdy and tighten it every so often.

You also want to ensure the surface is durable. This means choosing materials that are easy to clean. I actually prefer fake marble over marble because people will be careless with it. I came to one of my Airbnbs once and found Sharpie drawings all over mine. We ended up getting the Sharpie stains off the coffee table with toothpaste! Who would have thought?

Also, avoid materials prone to coffee and water rings, as probably half of your rental guests won’t use your coasters.

4. Budget Friendly Coffee Tables For Rentals

Considering all of those things, you should be able to find great Airbnb coffee tables in the $100-$300 range. I don’t recommend focusing on high-end furniture brands. Your first stop should be Wayfair because they have thousands of Airbnb coffee tables for all of your needs!

Also, I would like to point out that I do not recommend coffee tables with hinges or pop-ups for storage. Those are fun at home but an unnecessary paint point at your rental. They can easily break, or even worse, your guests or their children can pinch their fingers in them!

Here are some of my favorite regular coffee tables for your Airbnb! These are round and rectangular coffee tables of varying sizes. These aren’t overly heavy, but I do not consider weight like I did in the next section. So, just decide what looks best in your space!

Lightweight Airbnb Coffee Tables

Here are lightweight coffee tables for your Airbnb! Choose one of these if you have a sleeper sofa or anticipate guests moving your coffee table often. These are all in the under 30 pounds. When deciding on a shape, remember to think about where people will move it to when they need to use the sofa bed.

Airbnb Coffee Tables For Small Spaces

The following coffee table ideas are either smaller or nesting options for anyone who needs a uniquely shaped coffee table or has limited space in their rental. You may want to consider these in a studio style rental or a loft area without much extra room.
