I usually try to maximize space and need to find items with specific dimensions and get them here fast. That is why I love shopping for my Airbnbs at Wayfair! Why I Like To Shop At Wayfair For My Rentals

Wayfair is one of the world’s largest home retailers with over 30 million home products! You can find literally anything that you are looking for. What I like is that these are name-brand, high-quality items in a variety of price points to suit your budget.

Throughout my years as an Airbnb host, I have bought so many home items from Wayfair, including the popular Wayfair sleep mattresses, dressers, bed frames, outdoor furniture, and more!

In addition to the great selection, I find the robust review system very helpful! Most items have hundreds or thousands of reviews full of valuable first-hand information and real-world photos, which is invaluable when selecting items for my vacation rental properties.

The product overview section is very helpful. It even shares the approximate time and effort required to assemble anything, weight capacities, detailed measurements, and more. These help me get it right the first time and avoid additional stress when trying to set up my Airbnbs.

Top Wayfair Finds For Your Airbnb Rental Property

Here are some of my favorite Wayfair finds in various categories that would be perfect for short-term rental properties like Airbnb. The great news is that most are on sale as part of the Wayfair Black Friday and Cyber Monday celebration!

Cabinets & Console Tables

A nice, high-quality, oversized cabinet under a flush-mounted TV is one of my favorite spots in a vacation rental. I look for cabinets with solid doors in which to keep games and sofa bed bedding.

Additionally, console tables are great space fillers if you have an oversized room. I keep them free of clutter and allow guests to use them for keys, phones, and general catch-all needs.

Beds & Mattresses

For our very first rental condo, I bought a Wayfair Sleep mattress, and it’s so comfortable! There are a variety to choose from, including inexpensive memory foam mattresses to top-rated hybrid mattresses.

For short-term rental beds, I try to look for wooden beds that are easy to keep clean, but I also love a good upholstered bed. These days, a good platform bed is all you need for an Airbnb, and there is no need for a box spring in most cases. Just make sure to get a 10″ – 14″ deep mattress.

Dressers For Your Airbnb

Dressers are one place you don’t want to skimp. In most cases, I like these to be substantial enough to fill a big wall. I always end up putting a mirror above them so that the area can double as a place to get ready. You really want to get high-quality dressers with easy-to-open drawers. I recommend going with lighter colors if possible to help make the room feel bigger.

Nightstands For Rentals

If you are short on space in your vacation rental, opt for small accent tables instead of large nightstands so that you can have the largest bed possible. I love the one below from Birch Lane. If you are furnishing a large bedroom, a nice larger set of nightstands will help fill the space.

TIP: Always have a nice outlet extender easily accessible near both sides of the bed for cellphones, watches, and headphones. Nobody wants to move a nightstand just to access a plug!

Kitchen Tables & Chairs

When it comes to kitchen tables and chairs, decide what best fits your space! For example, in my small studio, this Sauder table looks like a mini farmhouse and fills the spot nicely. On the other hand, a round table for four is best in this one-bedroom unit.

Regardless of the style, you need to have a seat for your maximum number of guests. This means that if you sleep 8, you should have a table with 8 chairs. Sometimes, this is not always possible, but if you have a kitchen bar, you can count those stools as well.

Wayfair does a great job recommending the perfect chairs for each table, which saves you a lot of guesswork. However, make sure to avoid upholstered dining chairs in a rental property. You’ll thank me later!

Living Room Furniture

You’ll need to decide if your living room is a good spot for a sofa bed. In my one-bedroom units, we do have one because it’s a great option for families traveling with children. But if you have a large home, you really want to keep the living room open for gatherings. So, I would not put a sofa bed in a large rental property unless it was in a bonus room.

So, get a nice sofa, a sturdy cabinet like we mentioned earlier, a nice accent chair or two, a coffee table, an end table, and a good rug.

Home Accents & Decor

Don’t overdo it with knickknacks! I always like to add mirrors whenever possible to make my space look bigger. Make sure to always mount or secure a mirror to the wall. Do not have them freestanding on the floor if you plan to host children.

I also always add coat racks and hooks wherever possible. This is the number one thing my Airbnb guests rave about!
