Today, I want to share some fresh design inspiration for your Airbnb living room and bedroom! With short-term rentals, it’s often tempting to want to pick a theme, such as a coastal beach house or cabin lake house. But sometimes, your rental property is not in a specialized location. That’s okay! There are great ways to stay “theme-free” yet still have eye-catching Airbnb decor.
Airbnb Living Room Ideas & Bedroom Inspiration
In this post, I am sharing decor that is loosely floral-based, often centering around my favorite Rifle Paper Company rugs (available at Wayfair). But you can easily swap out the rugs and the wall art for an entirely different look.

Of course, these design boards aren’t limited to Airbnb short term rentals. In fact, I would love to duplicate some of these in my own home. I actually think these bedroom ideas are great for a guest room or a teen bedroom makeover.
Airbnb Bedroom Design Ideas From Wayfair
Here are three different design boards that I created with some of my favorite top-rated Wayfair products. Each includes a bed, rug, nightstands, curtains, and a piece of wall art. In an actual Airbnb bedroom, I would also include a coordinating dresser, full-length mirror, wall-mounted TV, and other essentials.

Also, in a short-term rental, you can go either way on the area rug! I do include them in every living room but not always in bedrooms. It just depends on the layout of your room and what type of property you have. With our 30A rentals being near the 30A beaches, I try to minimize rugs since there is so much sand, and we have adequate wood flooring already.
#1 Grey & Blue Bedroom Inspiration
For this Airbnb bedroom inspiration board, I chose a top-rated Birch Lane wooden bed. Wood or wrought iron beds are easiest to clean, so look for them when purchasing a bed for a rental property. The rug shown in this design is the Rifle Paper Co. x Loloi Maison Wisteria Cream Rug.
Additionally, I chose small pedestal tables instead of large nightstands, as I do in most of our rentals. Shown here are the Toriane End Tables, also by Birch Lane. Due to space, full-size nightstands sometimes limit me to a queen-size bed, but using stools or smaller end tables instead allows me to fit king-size beds, which guests love! I love these Birch Lane Medano Ceramic Table Lamps, too.
Add cream faux linen blackout curtains and some easy-to-clean wall art, and you’re good to go! I find this bedroom to be relaxing and quite neutral, making it a great design for various types of rental properties. Everything shown here has a rating of 4.7+ based on thousands of real reviews!
#2 Green & Pink Floral Bedroom Inspiration
Now, I know I just said to look for wooden beds, but I also love upholstered bed frames, like this upholstered wingback bed. It is available in five other colors as well. If you do choose upholstered furniture in your rental property, which is unavoidable in the living room, make sure to have a Bissell Upholstery Cleaner on hand!
On this interior design board, I brightened things up with a natural-colored medium-toned nightstand set and the Rifle Paper Co. X Loloi Maison Grove Khaki Area Rug. For curtains, I used sage green linen-textured 100% blackout drapes and then found this framed floral wall art set to tie it all together.
I love the way this room looks fresh and cozy. It is an example of a room that would photograph well for you and be eye-catching in your Airbnb listing photos! Again, this would be a really nice design for a guestroom in your primary home as well.
#3 Black & Grey Bedroom Inspiration
This room design is much more neutral and could easily become more masculine with the removal of the pink peonies. This black farmhouse-style bed has great reviews and is available in five colors. I personally think this would look really great in a kid’s room with two twin or double beds, which are always great to have in a larger vacation rental home. Again, I chose pedestal tables over nightstands to maximize space!
In this Airbnb bedroom design board, I choose very neutral wall art. However, this would be a great place to frame some black-and-white photos and do a gallery wall, as I have in the living room of our one-bedroom condo. I always like to find older photos from our vacation destination and frame them.
This gray and cream rug is another great neutral that also helps lighten up the space. Again, I chose coordinating linen textured blackout curtain panels—blackout shades are essential in Airbnb bedrooms! Your guests often want to sleep in or have little ones who need to take daytime naps. In my opinion, blackout shades are non-negotiable!
Airbnb Living Room Design Ideas From Wayfair
Next, I have three Airbnb living room design boards that are not location-themed. The inspiration here is centered around three different Rifle Paper Company rugs. These rugs always get rave reviews and are surprisingly inexpensive! I think these designs would all be very nice for a variety of short-term rental locations, and items can easily be swapped around to best fit your space and target guests.
In addition to what you will see below, I have wall-mounted Roku Smart TVs in all of my Airbnb living rooms (read why I love them here). I try to keep decor and knick-knacks at a minimum and usually do a nice gallery wall over the sofa.
#1 White & Floral Living Room Inspiration
This Airbnb living room is full of bright florals, crisp white furniture, and gold accents. The rug shown here is the Rifle Paper Co. x Loloi Eden Mughal Garden Cream Rug, which served as the center of my design. This is a Wayfair design favorite, with a 4.8-star rating from almost 1500 purchasers!
For a TV cabinet, this media console is perfect for a larger space or long wall as it is 69.5″ wide. This means that you can mount a large smart TV over it if you choose without drawing the space.
The coffee table here is one of my go-to styles, especially with a sofa bed. It is lightweight and easy to move. This round table also comes in a black-and-white version. This style is also available in a rectangular shape, which I actually prefer if you only have one sofa in the room.
Other items you see here are the Cessna 2 – Light Swing Arm Wall Sconces, the Birch Lane Momsen Lamp, a polysilk peony arrangement, and a great neutral floral Van Gogh-inspired wall art set.
#2 Green & White Living Room Inspiration
In this Airbnb living room design, the Rifle Paper Co. x Loloi Courtyard Sage Area Rug steals the show! I love how the green is dark, as that helps hide stains the easiest. Like most of the rugs you see in this post, it is also available in additional colors. I chose a Kujtesa cream sectional and a rich 58″ walnut rattan console table.
When buying furniture for my vacation rentals, I always look for cabinets that can fully close over open shelves, as this is a great place to store sofa bed bedding, games, and other essentials.
That said, if your rental property has a sofa bed, make sure to choose a lightweight coffee table like the one in my previous design board.
Other items you see here are the Birch Lane Theodora Swing Arm Floor Lamp and a top-rated artificial Fiddle Fig plant. Please only include artificial plants in your rentals if you are 100% sure that your cleaners are wiping them down!
#3 Blue & Green Living Room Inspiration
For the last design, I went for a slightly richer look, incorporating more blues and greens. This Rifle Paper Co. x Loloi Cotswolds Willow Indigo Rug is another great choice and hides stains well. If you can’t already tell, I just adore the Rifle Paper Co. x Loloi collection of rugs!
This cream Azriah sofa is a great neutral and similar to what you would need if you wanted a sleeper sofa in your rental’s living room. Wayfair has a great selection of sleeper sofas, so browse them here! This three-piece wall art set is soft yet colorful and a great choice for filling an empty wall above the sofa.
In this scenario, you could go in a variety of directions for the coffee table and console table in your Airbnb living room. I did think that these bronze bird bookends would be a great touch on top of the console table with some hardcover books. I like to go to a used bookstore and pick out books that pull together my design colors. I remove dustjackets, so just look at the actual book color.
These small faux plants can go on your end tables or coffee table, and I adore these Lane wall sconces!
