During our recent trip to Europe, Matt and I wanted to go out on the town for a date night while in Brussels. Abby and I had spent the day on a Bruges day trip, and both kids wanted to relax, recharge, and stay back at the Hotel Indigo Brussels. It was a lovely warm summer evening, and I thought it might be fun to find a rooftop bar. We wanted the best possible view of Brussels and to catch the sunset.   After a quick TripAdvisor search for Rooftop Bar Brussels, we decided to go to a place fittingly called Secret Rooftop Bar.   It is located on the top floor of the 4-Star Warwick Hotel in central Brussels near Grand Place and the historical part of downtown Brussels.  

For this outing, I didn’t have my regular camera with me, so my photos are just from my phone. But it was too wonderful of a place not to share!

Visiting The Secret Rooftop Bar

It’s a beautiful place to enjoy the beauty and serenity of the city. It’s near the Antique District of Le Sablon, Mont des Arts, the Manneken Pis sculpture, and the city’s best restaurants, bars, and boutiques. The rooftop bars panoramic views over Brussels are gorgeous, and the romantic charm will provide wonderful memories befitting this iconic French and Flemish city. 

What To Know About The Secret Rooftop Bar Brussels

The rooftop terrace at the Warwick Hotel Brussels is open Tuesday through Saturday from 5 pm until 11 pm. The last entrance is at 10 pm, so be sure to arrive before that time. A $10 cover charge is collected at the door and can be applied to your drink purchases. The bar offers various alcoholic drinks, including some unique craft cocktails. There is no dress code, and we went there dressed relatively casually and did not feel out of place.

The general mood is elegant but laid-back, and the rooftop has plenty of lounge sofas, foldable chairs, and standing tables. The standing tables are great because they provide a perfect vantage from which you can view the bustling cityscape below. They do not serve food; however, the Warwick Hotel has an elegant dining restaurant, Chutney’s, downstairs.  

The roof terrace is open year-round. About half of the floor area is covered, and that is where the bar is located. The Secret Rooftop Bar is a decent size, with plenty of space to spread out. Several larger parties and numerous couples were enjoying the evening. There are bathrooms and interior seating options available near the bar. The summer terrace is active in warmer months and turns into a winter garden during the colder months. 

Secret Rooftop Bar: Amazing City Views and Sunsets

The view of the city is the main attraction here. You can see and feel the energy and excitement of the bustling city below. The fantastic vista extends across the heart of the City Center, giving you an unparalleled view of the area’s baroque guild halls and gorgeous neo-gothic architecture.  

You can watch the sunset if you get there later in the evening. We enjoyed this the most. It gave us so many great photo ops! Watching the sun slowly drop behind the magnificent steeples of the city was breathtaking. The red and orange hues of the sunset made the drinks taste even better, and the warm breeze created a magical experience. 

Plan Your Date Night at Secret Rooftop Bar Brussels

I definitely recommend the Warwick Secret Rooftop Bar in Brussels, Belgium. It’s a perfect romantic date night during your vacation and offers a reprieve from the busy tourist activities. Seeing the hustle and bustle of Grand Place below was nice as the noise rose and fell. However, I didn’t really want to be down there yet again for a second night.  

So, take my word for it! Enjoying a refreshing craft drink as you watch the sunset over Brussels – a modern European city steeped in ancient tradition and culture, is something you will remember forever.
