With the growing number of Airbnb listings on the platform, hosts must ensure their properties stand out. One way to do this is to provide the key Airbnb must have items for your guests. And they don’t have to be big, expensive Airbnb amenities. In fact, the one item my Airbnb guests rave about most is actually very small and inexpensive. It’s my Airbnb hooks, and I have them all over our 30A condo rentals!

Airbnb Must Have Item: Hooks
As a mom who frequently travels with kids, I knew I needed to ensure my guests always had a place to hang their belongings. This is even more important in my situation because our studio and one-bedroom rentals are small. Every inch of floor space is valuable.
By placing these Airbnb hooks wherever we can, we can make better use of vertical space. This allows guests to keep their belongings off the ground. This is just one of those simple things Airbnb guests love, which is why it’s a must have Airbnb essential!
While I don’t advertise our dozens of hooks in each condo, it’s always a pleasant surprise for guests. By providing certain Airbnb amenities that make a guest’s stay more comfortable and convenient, you can stand out and earn those 5-star ratings. Many of my guests leave me great feedback, complimenting the many hooks we have throughout our rental properties.
Which Hooks Should You Buy For Your Vacation Rentals?
Outside of general bathroom towel hooks and a set of hooks by the entryway, the hooks should be small and unintrusive. If you buy large, dark, and bulky hooks, it will make your space feel smaller. Ideally, you want them to match the wall or door color you are mounting them on. So, white for white doors, brown for brown doors, and so on.
I buy these white 2-prong robe hooks that blend in with my white doors and walls. They come in a variety of colors and quantities.

Where Should You Place Your Airbnb Hooks?
I put the hooks on both sides of most doors, including the standard closet doors. In most cases, I do two hooks on each side. For some, I placed one in the center. But I don’t think you can ever have too many. We use our beach condos a lot, and there is never a time when a hook is left empty.
Putting a few hooks by the front entrance for car keys and other items would also be helpful. In all of my short-term rentals, I also have a variety of open walls where it makes sense to put a vertical row of hooks. When we are there, we use these for backpacks, shopping bags, soft coolers, etc.

I love these small hooks because they can be used for common needs, such as hanging towels or backpacks, and for smaller items, such as car keys, umbrellas, and more. I even have a touple on the inside door of our closets for the bag of sand toys that we provide.
