As a mom who frequently travels with kids, I knew immediately that I needed to ensure my guests always had a place to hang their items. This is even more important in my situation because our studio and one-bedroom rentals are small. Every inch of floor space is valuable.

By placing hooking anywhere and everywhere, we can take advantage of the vertical space, allowing guests to keep their belongings off the ground. This is just one of those simple things Airbnb guests love!

While I don’t advertise our dozens of hooks in each condo, it’s always a pleasant surprise for guests. By providing certain Airbnb amenities that make a guest’s stay more comfortable and convenient, you can stand out and earn those 5-star ratings. Many of my guests leave me great feedback, complimenting the many hooks we have throughout our rental properties.

Which Hooks Should You Buy For Your Vacation Rentals?

Outside of general bathroom towel hooks, the hooks should be small and unintrusive. If you buy large, dark, and bulky hooks, it will make your space feel smaller.

I buy white 2-prong robe hooks that blend in with my white doors and walls. For years, I bought these hooks at Target. However, they have been out of stock for a while, and I had to find an alternative.

So, these white hooks at Amazon are identical. The only significant difference is that the screws are silver. I would highly recommend buying a pack of white screws to use instead.

Where Should You Place the Hooks?

I put the hooks on both sides of most doors, including the standard closest doors. In most cases, I do two hooks on each side. On some, I just put one in the center. But I don’t think you can ever have too many. We use our beach condos a lot, and there is never a time when a hook is left empty.

Putting a few by the front entrance for car keys and other items would also be helpful. In all of my short term rentals, I also have a variety of open walls where it makes sense to put a vertical row of hooks. When we are there, we use these for backpacks, shopping bags, soft coolers, etc.
