When the kids and I first drove up to Lake Lou Yaeger last summer I knew that I found a hidden treasure right there in Litchfield, IL! ย My happy place smack dab in south central Illinois.
See, we aren’t boat people (although I would love to be one) but we are water people! ย I have the best memories growing up spending the summers in the lake. ย A new one each weekend. ย Summer camps. ย That roped off swimming area. That platform that I was finally old enough to swim out to.
So when we pulled up to Milnot Beach on Lake Lou Yaegar my heart fluttered a bit! ย It was 50 minutes door to door and took me back at least 25 years. We had a great time and finally got a chance to bring Matt back there just a couple days ago!
If you live in Central Illinois make sure to add this gem to your bucket list! ย It is super clean. ย Lifeguards on duty. ย There is an air conditioned snack bar! ย It’s only $3 for kids, $4 for adults and the 4 and under crew is free. ย TIP: Bring cash! ย They do not accept cards and the nearest ATM is back in Litchfield.
