Something has the four of us smiling a lot this week!  Our deck!  Last Wednesday night, in the rain, we had to set things out front for the semi-annual bulky trash pickup.  Most of it gets snatched up by people before the trash man even comes on Thursday morning and it’s fun knowing that it’s going to get new life.  On a whim we decided to get rid of our patio set.  We got this table and chairs before Abby was born and moved it from house to house.  It’s glory days have long passed though.

And glory days it had.

And before you cry any ugly tears for my old patio set I will share its happy ending.  A couple grabbed it up as Matt was hauling it out and it’s going to go live out at their farm.  By the lake.  Whew.

So, Thursday brought a sudden burst of adrenaline and I drug the kids to IKEA after school.  I thought for sure that I would have to pay for delivery on the sectional I wanted.  I stuck my kids in the play area (seriously… Target needs one of those!) and hunted down the ARHOLMA series that I saw online.   And it was more comfortable that I even expected.  I loaded it on my flat cart, the boxes towering 3 feet over my head and pushed it to checkout.  Then I thought… would this? could this? fit in my car?  I grabbed the kids and somehow we got it in there!  Filling every square inch.

So we made it home and the kids took turns helping me assemble the entire thing with an Allen Wrench.   And Abby is her mother’s child.  Now I know why Matt doesn’t like doing projects like this with me.  But it got done!  And then I went to Target where I bought this outdoor rug, two of these accent tables,  a handful of these Threshold outdoor pillows, and this tray.  Boom.  Filled up the car and brought it home.  Set it out and then hauled it to Home Depot.  Where I bought three of these planters that I have always wanted.  And they took like 5 seconds to install.  Crazy town.  And I have always wanted my own Zinnias so I got them!  And some other hanging plants to add.  And we put Dill, Peppermint, Cilantro, Strawberries and Basil in one.

And now… the results would make Chip and Joanna proud!

And we can’t get enough of it!  We have nowhere to eat but lots of room for naps, coffee and cocktails!
