So, we discovered something new that it is my duty as a fellow mother to pass along. ย Soda Cake. ย I have seen this on Pinterest or caught a glimpse of it in my feed but never have I gave it a second glance. ย Until now. ย Ok, so let’s put aside the issue of whether sweets or soda are even good for you and just roll with it for the sake of cake. ย Everyone loves cake. ย Except that I’m trying to watch what I eat… so logically we just made our second cake of the week.

The soda cake is easy and just about as life-changing as baked goods come. ย  First, you buy ย a box of cake. ย Then you buy a can of soda. ย That’s it. ย Well, maybe some frosting too! ย There are tons of ‘receipes’ of great matches or just fly by the seat of your pants. ย Yesterday we did FUNFETTI + STRAWBERRY SHASTA and today we did ORANGE CAKE + ORANGE SODA. ย  I have seen people do things like Red Velvet with Dr. Pepper. ย You go. ย The world is your Oyster. ย And if it’s gross then who really cakes. ย You have a whole buck twenty five wrapped up in it and I bet the kids would eat it anyway!

So, mix it up. ย Put it in a pan. ย We just used glass pyrex and didn’t even need to spray it. ย It literally came right out once it was done.

Bake it at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. ย Let it sit.

Enjoy.

Do it again the next day.

Is anyone else a fan? ย Give it a try! It seriously came out so moist and fluffy. ย We are hooked.
