What do we offer?

We don’t travel full-time and only need two hands to count the number of countries we’ve visited. But we are proud to be your average family, just trying to make the most of our days off and inspiring other families to look for adventure, too. We offer something that many travel bloggers don’t. We are relatable. Our adventures are within reach for modern families like us who read our blog and say, “Let’s do that!“

Our Little Lifestyle is a PR-friendly travel + lifestyle blog focusing on family travel and adventures big and small. As a travel writer, professional photographer, and storyteller, I am happiest when visiting new places and experiencing new things. I am also a top-rated Airbnb superhost, sharing my first-hand expertise with other hosts.

While my blog is geared toward family experiences, I am known to head out on my own with the kids to camp, cruise, and make new memories! I also enjoy solo travel and having the opportunity to savor a new place on my own. We can collaborate in endless ways, from dedicated SEO-optimized blog posts, social media posts and stories, user-generated content creation, professional photography, and more.

About Us

Matt is a “not quite 50” year-old executive and our rock. Because I am so proud of him, let me tell you that he is not only an Eagle Scout but also holds degrees in Occupational Therapy, a Master’s in Healthcare Administration, and a Law Degree. Matt always supports my crazy ideas and is wise beyond his years. Matt’s lifelong dream is to own, sail, and live on a catamaran; lucky for me, he says I can come too!

Sarah (that’s me) is always planning something, and it’s usually another warm-weather adventure. I do all our travel planning and most of the work for our blog. I am a professional photographer, travel writer, and an Airbnb superhost. My background is in Actuarial Sciences (with degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science). Still, my passion and most of my work experience are in travel and hospitality. My bucket list includes visiting every place mentioned in the Beach Boy’s song Kokomo, even if it means a trip to Kokomo, Indiana. Just kidding, I love you, Indiana, but most in the summertime.

Abby turned 14 this year! She is an active kid who enjoys swimming and track. Last year, she said that she would like to visit Paris, France, and Sao Paulo, Brazil, before she turns 16. We actually checked both off the list in 2023!

Jake can always make me laugh. At 12 years old, he is a Boy Scout on a local wrestling team and enjoys video games. He has yet to find one specific place that he wants to visit. However, he would be happy spending the rest of his life on a cruise ship. That is his happy place!

Location

We are based out of southeastern Alabama. Although, it has been quite a journey arriving here!

While Matt was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, I spent most of my childhood in the Pacific Northwest, calling Lynden, Washington home. Just before high school, my family moved to southern Illinois, and five years later, I set off for Illinois State University. And while many of my friends headed north the day after graduation, I stayed and started my career in Bloomington, Illinois.

Meanwhile, Matt adventured down to Panama City Beach, Florida, for a few years and managed to hike half of the Appalachian Trail before heading back to St. Louis for Law School.

In 2007, we married in Bloomington before following Matt’s career an hour south to Springfield, Illinois. We welcomed both Abby and Jake and, in the years since, have lived in Overland Park, Kansas, Edwardsville, Illinois, Apple Valley, California, and now Dothan, Alabama. We own four rental properties just south of us near Rosemary Beach, Florida, and spend much time at the beach.

So, it’s a good thing that I don’t like to stand still! I find so much joy in exploring new places, and while we are comfortable here, we can’t wait to see what the future holds. We are hoping it’s early retirement and a catamaran!

What Are We Currently Looking For?

With school-aged children, our family travel partnerships often need to align with traditional school calendars, and we can accommodate a limited number of full-family collaborations each year. We love exploring new places on the weekends, and we are most interested in warm-weather destinations and enjoy anything that gets us outside or on the water.

We enjoy luxury accommodations, but you will just as often find us camping at our favorite state parks and visiting anywhere in between. I like to think of us as easygoing and open to anything, and I fall in love with everywhere we go! Our family loves to try new activities and would love to hear from destinations and PR companies if you have something that would be a good fit for us!

On the other hand, the kids being older has allowed me to travel solo more frequently, and my travel calendar is very flexible. I would love to add more PRESS/FAM trips to my 2023 and 2024 calendars and look forward to connecting with many of you at upcoming conferences!

I work very hard to keep our blog authentic and write entirely about destinations and activities we have personally visited and experienced. And all photos are always my own. Because of this, I am a trusted source of information for readers and can assist them in planning similar adventures in the future.

We are located in the southeastern city of Dothan, Alabama, just minutes from the Florida panhandle and eastern Georgia and within 5 hours of many major markets, including Atlanta, Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville, Mobile, New Orleans, Birmingham, and more.

We often travel out of Dothan Regional Airport via a Delta connection to Atlanta. Still, we can also travel from Northwest Florida Beaches Airport (ECP), Destin-Fort Walton Beach (VPS), Tallahassee (TLH), and other nearby airports.

I focus on evergreen, SEO-optimized, long-form, photo-rich blog posts complimented with professional photography. Unless otherwise noted, every photo that you see on my website was taken by me. If you choose to work with us, you can expect to see sharp, color-correct images that are well-composed and free of trendy filters.

I also sell usage rights, and the cost/terms can be negotiated before or after a collaboration. I currently use full-frame and mirrorless Nikon cameras with various prime and zoom lenses, GoPro products, and a Mavic Air drone that I can fly where permitted. We, of course, use our cell phones for many of our Instagram stories and social media content.
