So, as I troll around shopping on Instagram I keep seeing more and more Vintage items for sale. So many catch my eye! As much as I love new trends and bold prints there is nothing like a classic peter pan collar and a pair of knee socks. Abby’s almost 6 now! I know the days of having a little girl are fleeting fast. Or maybe I am verging on a midlife crisis. But, either way, I am kind of obsessed with hunting down vintage treasures! We have been accumulating them for a few weeks now via Instagram, Ebay and Kidizen and after a few quick backyard sessions I think I have enough photos to share!
Sidenote. Seriously you guys, I am 100% serious. I MUST FIND A SPUMONI SWEATSHIRT AND SKIRT. I lived in them. They were my rock. I must have them back in my life. Like this one but I need a bigger size!
Abby is shown first in a vintage Christian Dior fine corduroy dress. This is my favorite. She looks like a little Kennedy kid. Next, an old Chambray Bonnie Jean number. This is going to be fun in the summer. Super lightweight. Then a polyester nautical looking dress by You are in Wonderland. And ok. The last one. I know that it is a little Michelle Tanner for most people’s taste but it’s so soft and I probably had one just like this. And I didn’t buy this on online. I found it at Goodwill. For 99 cents. Booyah. Lastly, Jake is rocking a polyester shirt from Sears’ Winnie the Pooh line way back. That print. To die for. Both pairs of shoes are Elephatito Mary Janes. Knee socks both from Old Navy.
I am super excited to hit up more thrift shops for treasures and hope that this inspires you to do the same or better yet…. ask your mom for your clothes back. I bet she saved them!
Like I said Vintage is the new black. It’s always in style. Except when it’s not. Then just hold on to it for your kids. They will thank you later.
So cute and so fun! Makes me too long for the things I wore growing up!
I love dressing my babies in our old clothes that my grandmother (Nana) made us when we were little! Thankfully my Nana is still alive and LOVES seeing them in her things. These dresses that shirt you posted are PERFECT!
