It’s been so hot here in the California Desert and the days under 100 degrees are few and far between. But, the summer nights have been beautiful! The long nights that summer brings are some of my favorite. Yesterday after a semi stress filled (for no reason) destroy-the-house, bicker-all-day, pretend-to-throw-away-the-ipads kind of afternoon we just jumped into the far to grab some take out and burn off some steam. I planned to read while the kids played but instead just watched them run around and play. The sunset was amazing. And on the way to the car we stumbled upon some beautiful wildflowers and Abby gathered a bunch for her room and Jake stuffed his pockets full planning to make me a flower crown. My bucket was filled.
It’s crazy what a small shift can do.
I kept thinking of my favorite Dallas Clayton poem.
“Get out from your house, from your cave, from your car, from the place you feel safe, from the place that you are. Get out and go running, go funning, go wild, get out from your head and get growing, dear child.”
Enjoy your day!
