We had such a fun weekend! Matt had an extra two days off so we made the most of it! The funny thing is that we didn’t really have any plans. It was more of a winging it type vibe.
We spent Friday in the yard and enjoying the amazing weather! Abby and Jake were wearing a dress and a tank that Abby designed at The Patchery. She was so proud of it and kept telling EVERYONE how she designed their outfits. She is begging to do it again. It’s been really fun for both of us to do! She also rocked an adorable new bracelet from Born On Bowery. And while I am here I have got to give a shout out to our Plasma Cars. We have had them for years and they never get old!
On Saturday we spent the first half of the day at a local State Park. On the way home we went to Sams Club and bought a big old thing of Illinois approved fireworks. Turns out there are all either confetti poppers or smoke bombs. I am pretty sure the neighbors loved us for that one! Then we went to the local American Legion for fireworks, music and cold ones.
Sunday we went to a lake about an hour away only to find that the beaches were closed due to high water. We improvised and decided to rent two 2-person kayaks. The kids did so well! We made it home in time for me to sneak off for a couple photo sessions with two very adorable little girls.
Then yesterday we went to a local waterpark! It was both kids first big part this summer and Abby was finally tall enough for the big slides. And wanted to float solo on the lazy river. When did she get so big!?! Jake was able to do the biggest of the little kid slides and was so excited that he literally came out fist pumping! I love these memories.
And today. We rest. It’s 3pm and I am still in my jammies. But I just sent off two sets of images and was finally able to re-design my blog! I have been wanting to showcase my images in a larger format and this makes me happy!
What do you think?
Looks like someone is going to be a fab designer when they grow up!
