You know all of those really fun things that your kids draw?  Mine always have a handful of things that they gravitate to and their unique styles are just so THEM at this very moment.  I love it!  I stick these masterpieces into boxes and photograph some of my favorites (you know… just in case they never make it into The Louvre).   It’s funny that as much as a snapshot en-capsules a memory of them for me, their own artwork really documents their very thoughts at that moment in time.  Time that goes way to fast.  I always giggle at the straight faces that Jake draws on all of his people.  And Abby… I am sure that you have seen some of her #ArtbyAbby gems on Instagram.  Needless to say,  my kids love to draw!  So, the day that Abby discovered Budsies was one to remember!

Budsies will take your child’s artwork and turn it into a 16″ hand sewn plush toy.

So, sit down.  If you haven’t heard of Budsies then you are in for a treat!   And I have to tell you that I rarely reach out to companies for blog collaborations but I just had to here because I just knew that you guys would love it!  And an exclusive promo code couldn’t hurt either.  In a nutshell, this fabulous small business takes your child’s fantasy and through a step by step process turn it into a reality.  Right here in the USA.

So, back to Abby and the fact that she was indeed going to be able to bring something to life.  She was so excited to get starting and draw something for her Budsie.  I am just imaging the biggest unicorn or a fabulous Cat with wings.  She sits down with her paper and crayons.  You know… Rome wasn’t built in a day.  This is going to be one epic project.  And then a few minutes later she proclaims that she is done.  I trot over waiting to see the masterpiece and there it is.  The furthest thing from rainbows and unicorns that you can imagine.  Inspired by her new favorite iPad Game, she drew her very own version of Freddy.  Yep, from Five Nights at Freddys.

“Really Abby?”  :: scratching head:: While at the same time she is on cloud number 9.  Turns out that she has been sad that she couldn’t find any Five Nights toys anywhere and now she was going to be the proud owner of one.  And she has been telling everyone about it!

I’m sure that in the (over) 10,000 orders that they have fulfilled they have seen it all.  Here is a little taste of their recent custom projects.  If you scroll the #budsies hashtag on Instagram you can see so many other great creations!

That Mommy one is the sweetest! Can you imagine if they had to make that epic Mother’s Day portrait that Abby drew of me a few years ago?  I die.    And they can even make Selfies from pictures sent in.  I love the examples of kids in their favorite outfit or a Halloween costume!  And coming this holiday season are Petsies which sound really special.  I would love to have a stuffed animal made of our dog Lilly.  I think we would treasure that forever!

You can click here to read more about how the process works!  It’s easy, peasy and you can send in your photo with just a simple snap of your iPhone.  They even email you updates along the way as they progress though design, picking out fabrics and then production!

I think that these would make such a great holiday gift!  Both for kids or even a holiday gift for a grandparent who adores your child’s art work.   And even though Abby went all 50 shades of brown on me, I am sure that she will treasure this forever.  We can look back and remember just how much she loved that game!

The box came when she was at school and Jake carried it up to the bus stop to show her as soon as she got off! She was squealing! I made her wait the whole 2 minutes until we got home and she found her special chair and dug right in.  And I am impressed!  Every line.  Every proportion.  Spot on.  She once again found her happy place!
