One of the questions that I have often been asked lately is, what are the best Airbnb grills? The good news is that this is generally an easy question to answer. That said, I always include some added advice about the logistics of providing grills at your Airbnb. Today, I am going to share all of that in one quick Airbnb hosting blog post!

Short on time? Overall, I recommend the Weber Spirit E310 3 Burner Grill and that you talk with your cleaners and iron out the cleaning and maintenance.

However, there are other options for smaller rental properties, luxury vacation rentals, and more. Additionally, there are a few more things to consider when deciding which Airbnb grill is best for your rental property! So, let’s dig in!

Choosing The Best Airbnb Grills Our Little Lifestyle

Guide To Airbnb Grills

Providing a grill at your vacation rental is a great way to enhance your guest experience. It’s an added amenity that can help set you apart from other rentals and help you become an Airbnb superhost. But you will need to make sure it’s crystal clear who is responsible for cleaning it. Otherwise, like many Airbnb extras, it can become a no-good-deed-goes-unpunished situation. I am looking at you, Welcome Baskets!

So, let’s dive into choosing the best Airbnb grills!

Should You Have A Grill At Your Airbnb?

If you have a condo like my 30A rentals with a very small outdoor space or balcony, probably not. In fact, it likely won’t even be allowed. However, in most other situations where there is adequate outdoor space, it’s a great idea to provide Airbnb grills!

What Size Airbnb Grill Should You Buy?

If your vacation rental sleeps a single family, say six guests or fewer, you can easily get away with a 2-burner gas grill. However, for most rentals that sleep more than that, you will want a standard-size three-burner grill or a 4-burner grill. If you are hosting very large groups of fifteen or more, consider providing two grills. And if you have a luxury vacation rental, you will often want to do a built-in outdoor kitchen to help elevate the aesthetic!

Natural Gas Grill vs. Propane Grills vs. Charcoal Grills

You may be wondering whether to buy a gas or charcoal grill for Airbnb rentals. In most situations you will be providing a standard propane grill at your rental. The exceptions will be where you have a built-in kitchen, where you will likely have a natural gas line run to the grill. Likewise, in a more primitive style rental, you may even opt for a charcoal grill.  However, I am not a fan of the charcoal grills at rentals because hot coals and lighter fluid just feel much risker, especially if you have careless Airbnb guests.

List Of The Best Airbnb Grills

So, let’s explore the best Airbnb grills for any situation! In the following section, I will include links to shop (and compare prices) at various popular retailers for each grill. I am including two options for the best overall, as both are highly rated, at a similar price point, and have good warranties.

I won’t go over all of the specific details for these grills, as that information, along with plenty of photos, is on the product listings when you shop! Again, the links below each grill’s name will take you directly to that specific grill on each of the sites.

Best Airbnb Grills

Best Overall Grill: Weber Spirit E310

Shop this grill at: Weber | Lowes | Amazon | Wayfair | Target

The Weber Spirit 310 is a great 3-burner propane grill that is easy to operate, durable, and has the best overall reviews from users. In the Airbnb world, the simpler, the better, and these Weber grills are very user-friendly and a great overall grill for your rental. There are two different versions of this grill, so the listings are slightly different, with the Walmart and Lowe’s options having a distinct look and slightly higher price.

Best Overall Grill: Napoleon – Freestyle 365

Shop this grill at: Amazon | Home Depot | Lowes | Wayfair

My sister uses his Napolean Freestyle grill at her vacation rental in Texas, and her husband highly recommends it because of the 10-year bumper-to-bumper warranty. It is also a 3-burner grill and is easy to use!

Best Small Grill: Weber Spirit E-210 Propane Grill

Shop this grill at: Weber | Amazon | Lowes | Wayfair

If you have a smaller property with limited outdoor space, this popular 2-burner Weber Spirit grill is a great option. It takes up less space than larger gas grills and is priced lower than the 3-burner grill. I would go with this option if your rental property sleeps one family or up to six guests.

Best Budget Grill: Char-Broil® Classic Grill

Shop this grill at: Amazon | Walmart | Lowes | Wayfair

I do believe that you get what you pay for, and I don’t advise skimping on your grill. However, if you have a very tight budget or just want to try out a grill to see if your guests will even use one, this Char-Broil Classic Grill would be a decent choice. And, while it costs over 50% less than the other grills, it maintains good reviews!

Best Premium Grill: Napoleon Prestige 500

Shop this grill at: Amazon | Home Depot | Lowes

If you have a higher-end vacation home and cater to more discerning guests, consider investing in the Napolean Prestige Grills. These stainless steel grills are quite popular and offer a more luxurious aesthetic to your outdoor cooking space. It has a few additional features as well.

Best Charcoal Grill: Weber Original Charcoal Grill

Shop this grill at: Amazon | Walmart | Lowes | Target

If you are looking to provide a charcoal grill, the Weber Classic Charcoal Grill is a really good option. It is a tried-and-true, budget-friendly grill that gets the job done. Its portable design allows it to be moved earlier. However, please make sure to have a clear plan for disposal, as you would never want a guest to dump hot coals into your garbage can.

Also, make it clear whether you provide coals or if the guests need to bring them. Maybe you should provide coals that don’t require lighter fluid because I don’t think I would like to have that on hand at my rental.

How To Clean And Maintain Your Airbnb Grills

If you are providing a grill at your rental property, it is essential that you know who is responsible for cleaning and maintaining it. Here are some of my top tips! It is easy to assume that your cleaners will take care of this, but it’s not always standard for them to.

Who Will Clean The Grill At Your Airbnb?

First, talk to your cleaners and ask them if they can clean the grill between guests. I also recommend asking your guests to please clean the grill after use. This could be as easy as providing a grill brush for them to use after cooking on your grill.

Once you have a cleaning plan in place, follow up after the first few guests to make sure it’s working as planned. Additionally, you will likely need to schedule a deep clean at least annually, and there are third parties that provide services like that. So, just search your area on Google!

Who Will Replace Propane Tanks As Needed?

If you use a propane gas grill, you need to iron out who is responsible for replacing the propane tanks. Generally, you will want to have a backup on hand and make sure there is communication about when a tank is low and when a replacement needs to be purchased.

That said, communication is key when it comes to Airbnb hosting. So, make it crystal clear in your Airbnb House Manual what you provide regarding propane. Do you provide one tank? For most stays, one tank plus a backup is sufficient, but for longer stays, your guests may use it up. Do they get a replacement, or do you have someone to do that?

How Long Do Gas Grill Propane Tanks Last?

In general, depending on the size of the grill, they will last an average of 10-20 hours out of a standard 20lb propane tank. As I said, this should be sufficient, but the one thing we know for certain is that most Airbnb guests don’t treat your place as they would their own home.

Will they leave it running to warm up for hours? Will they forget to close the valve after use? Both are actually more probable than you may think! For these reasons, having ample backups and a plan in place for managing the propane is key!

How Will Guests Use Your Airbnb Grill?

Speaking of closing the valve, it’s easy to assume that your Airbnb guests have experience operating grills. But that is not always the case. So, you need to provide crystal clear operating instructions and Airbnb grill rules. This is a good place to also kindly ask your guests to clean/brush the grill after use.

On that note, who is responsible for cleaning the BBQ tools and grill brush? Make sure to figure that out, too!

Providing Grilling Accessories, Covers, & More

If you provide a grill, you will also want to provide any necessary cooking tools and accessories. A standard grilling set should be sufficient. And you will also want grilling mitts, a grill brush, an easy-to-clean grill mat, a durable grill cover, and more.

To make it easy, I created a Grilling Essentials List on Amazon, where you can shop for all of the accessories you will need!
