One of my favorite places to shop for my Airbnb rentals is Home Depot. Of course, I love to shop in-store, but more often I end up at my rentals when I notice a broken toilet seat or even a missing doorknob. Yes, that has happened before! I often order from Home Depot because they offer free same-day or next-day delivery on in-stock items. So, today I want to share some of my Airbnb favorites from Home Depot!
And, now through January 21st, you can save big during Home Depot’s Refresh and Renew Sale. This includes everything from new mattresses to kitchen essentials and rugs!

Airbnb Favorites from Home Depot
There are so many great Airbnb finds at Home Depot, and I really appreciate that they often have what I need in stock. Just a couple of months ago, I had to replace one of my smart locks and had a new one delivered to my door within a couple of hours for only $2.99! The nearest Home Depot to our rental properties on 30A is about 25 minutes away. This saved me an hour in the car, allowing me to complete the deep cleaning and other maintenance tasks I was there to do.
In addition to appliances such as washers, dryers, and dishwashers, Home Depot offers a great selection of in-stock home decor, including area rugs, mirrors, and wall art. But did you know they have a huge selection of Airbnb favorites online, including my favorite Zinus bed frames, dining room furniture, and more. Most of these online-only exclusives can be delivered within a few days.
Just browsing this Home Depot sale has me excited for a little refresh at both my Airbnb rentals and my own home!
When Should You Refresh Your Rental Properties?
So, when should you refresh your Airbnb listing? The easy answer is in the off-season when you have downtime. However, you should refresh your rental properties as needed.
Of course, you always want to replace stained bedding and towels right away. But look at your rugs, curtains, furniture, and accents. When things start to show that inevitable wear and tear, it’s best to replace them as needed. And when furniture or appliances break, you’ll want to replace them right away!

Next, I want to take a few minutes to share some of my top Home Depot finds for your Airbnb rental properties! Some of these are even in stock and available for same-day or next-day pickup or delivery!
Airbnb Bedroom Finds at Home Depot
Home Depot has a really great selection of bedroom furniture as well as bedding, and most of what you’ll need for a bedroom refresh at your rental property. If I were setting up a new Airbnb rental property with even the slightest coastal vibe, I would absolutely get this Marsden Patina Wood Finish Wooden Cane Bed. It has excellent reviews and is available in white or black.
Pay attention to the great mattress selection, too! They offer a wide range of high-rated mattresses, including the popular Novilla line, Beautyrest, and more.
One great Airbnb refresh is adding a mattress topper to an older mattress. These can be placed inside your full mattress encasement, giving it the look and feel of a single mattress while helping to fill in sagging spots or general wear that comes with age. I would avoid the egg-crate style and the ultra-plush down toppers. Look for a memory foam mattress topper with straps or elastic to secure it to the mattress.

Airbnb Living Spaces Finds at Home Depot
In addition to bedroom furniture, Home Depot offers a wide selection of living room and entryway furniture, including the Signature Design by Ashley Furniture line, which I find consistently high quality at a great price! You can also browse rugs at Home Depot.
While browsing The Home Depot’s living room pieces for this post, I came across this coffee table that would be perfect for a space with a sofa bed. It’s just 21 lbs, so it’s easy to move aside when using the sofa bed. And, I like how it opens up. You could store the sofa bed bedding inside it for your guests!
I also really like the idea of a central entry-style table in a short-term rental. Not only is this a great place for guests to set down their keys and purses, but it also provides a place to store important information. I would leave it completely empty because the bottom area is the perfect spot for backpacks and any extras your guests bring. You can even use the drawers for books or magazines about the area, card games, pens and paper, etc.
Overall, this Gavelston 64 in. Console Table is a perfect furniture piece for a short-term rental!

Airbnb Kitchen Finds at Home Depot
One of the first areas to show wear and tear in a short-term rental is the kitchen. This damage includes scratched-up kitchen tables, broken bar stools, cracked or missing dishes, and scratched-up cookware. In fact, we replaced the pots and pans in two of our rentals last month, ensuring they were nonstick and more durable.
I thoroughly inspect the kitchen, top to bottom, every single time I set foot into my Airbnb rentals. I pull everything out of the cabinets to check for cracks, ensure each small appliance is working, and double-check that none of my silverware or utensils are missing.
I replace my potholders almost every time I refresh, and I love the KitchenAid potholders. And, you always want to check your cutting boards for excessive wear and tear.

Airbnb Outdoor Finds at Home Depot
Another place that tends to show wear and tear quickly is your outdoor spaces. When refreshing your rental properties, a quick cushion refresh or fresh patio umbrella can often make your space feel new again!
Or, opt for higher-end Polywood furniture! It’s incredibly durable. We use it at home, and it is truly the best on the market for longevity. Plus, it’s easy to clean and shows minimal wear. We have this exact Mahogany 5-Piece Plastic Traditional Curveback Adirondack Patio Conversation Set, and it’s very comfortable. It’s been out on our pool deck for four years now and still looks brand new!
You should also evaluate any grills or fire pits you provide. These are relatively inexpensive to replace and, again, often represent a significant improvement. Chances are that if either of those is more than a couple of years old, it’s probably looking worse for wear. Consider purchasing a new grill or fire pit from Home Depot for 2026!

Airbnb Appliances at Home Depot
Luckily, appliances don’t often need to be replaced at a rental property. That said, when they do break, it’s typically important to purchase and install a replacement quickly for either the guest who broke it or the next guest.
Just last year, we replaced a dishwasher in one day! A guest called us and said that it was leaking badly. We called a plumber and were on the road to meet him 2 hours later. It was broken beyond repair. So, Matt and I ordered a new dishwasher from Home Depot and left to pick it up. Our plumber went to lunch and another call, then returned that afternoon to install a brand-new dishwasher. We arrived home in time for dinner. Now, was that how we wanted to spend the day? No. But our guest was happy, and it felt good just to get it done.
Keep Home Depot in mind for any emergency appliance purchases as they arise! Their website makes it easy to find the specs, ensuring it fits the exact space you need. They can often help get you set up with installation as well.

Airbnb Locks & Cameras at Home Depot
Another area where Home Depot consistently comes through for me as an Airbnb Host is with smart locks stocking the most popular Schlage and Kwikset models! I have purchased many of our items here over the years, as well as most of our regular hardware. Often, when we buy a rental property, it has worn-out knobs. I always replace them with black or oil-rubbed bronze hardware.
The Schage Camelot Matte Black Electronic Keypad Single Cylinder Deadbolt is my go-to for my cleaner’s closet and the owner’s closets. They aren’t smart locks like you would use on the front door, but you don’t need them to be. And, the batteries last a long time. I just had to replace a few last month from our rentals we launched in 2020 and 2021.
You can also shop a wide range of outdoor cameras at Home Depot. Of course, you never want cameras inside at an Airbnb rental property, but it’s helpful to have one overlooking the driveway or front door. Don’t drive yourself crazy watching them. But, this is helpful for proof if your guests try to host a party. And, it lets you keep an eye on your property when it’s empty.

Airbnb Decor at Home Depot
Lastly, I want to highlight one area that Home Depot is often overlooked. But they have great general decor and design items. I always purchase this coat back for our Airbnb bathrooms (to hold towels), and they have a great selection of mirrors, rugs, and accents.
If you don’t already have a full-length mirror in your Airbnb bedrooms, consider adding one! This is something guests always appreciate. That said, look for mirrors that you can mount on the wall. The standing mirrors and leaning mirrors are cute, but a major hazard in rental properties. Here are a couple of Home Depot mirrors that I like!

One item you should refresh regularly is your area rugs. I keep these minimal in our rentals, skipping them in the dining area and bedrooms. But I do think you need an area rug to tie the living room space together. I have one important recommendation regarding rugs. If you have ample storage space, just buy a backup or two of the one you like. It makes it so much easier to replace them and keep your listing photos accurate.
Recently, we had guests with children who smashed what we think were berries and yogurt into one of our jute rugs. It was going to be very difficult to clean, and the rug had seen better days. I struggled to find and order a same-day replacement and was kicking myself for not buying a backup in the first place.
