I have been a big fan of Stephanie Corfee’s artwork for quite some time now! I first learned of her through her incredible blanket collaboration with JoAnn Grace Designs. CONFESSION: I am not a good color-er and haven’t spent much time coloring as an adult. Can I share a short story with you? First of all, I don’t know why I remember this but can’t remember if I turned off my straightener this morning. But here is the story…

I have always been a big fan of Matilda Jane Clothing and they used to do a lot of blog giveaways back in the day. This was years ago when Denise DeMarchis (whom I adored and still adore) wrote about heading up to her lake house in Michigan. She asked people to guess what she was most looking forward to doing up there. Her favorite pastime. People answered with a variety of great responses. Antiquing. Boating. Watching the sunset. Dinners out. And do you want to know what the answer was? It was coloring with her boys. For some reason that always stuck with me. It seemed so simple. She was a wise woman.

So, today for the first time in probably a long long time I sat down in the toy room with Abby and we both colored. It was so relaxing. Our conversation flowed so easily. We kept going for a couple of hours and then she asked if I wanted to go do it again. I recently posted a couple of quotes on my Instagram page that resonates with me today. First,
