When traveling with kids, especially babies, it’s often easier to rent items than to haul them with you. This is especially true when you are flying to your destination. In the past, options were limited, but today, companies like BabyQuip make baby equipment rental for travel easy and affordable!
We have personally used BabyQuip and watched my sister use them while traveling on many occasions. So, today, I want to share everything you need to know about renting family and baby gear through BabyQuip.
BabyQuip Baby Equipment Rental
BabyQuip is unique in that the platform is made up of individual providers, each stocking their own selection of gear. The range is wide including everything from beach wagons and strollers to beach chairs and children’s toys. Prices, inventory, and delivery fees vary among providers.
All partners have unique ratings and reviews. They have also passed background checks and are insured. In addition, they undergo advanced training on cleaning and sanitation protocols. In most cases, these providers are locals, too!

Renting Baby Equipment & Kid’s Gear
BabyQuip is more than just baby items, and the variety of items that Proviers offers is remarkable! Just browsing the BabyQuip baby equipment rental options near our 30A condos, there are currently nine providers with almost 1000 different items or services available.
BabyQuip does not only rent out baby items! They have beach tent rentals, beach chairs, and even rental beach toys. You can even rent beach towels and backyard games like cornhole and Jenga. Other surprising items include video games, Bog bags, dollhouses, and more!
I want to point out that while this is a great option for baby equipment rental for travel, it’s also great for grandparents hosting their loved ones. Additionally, parents who want to try out an item, such as an expensive stroller, can rent it for a week to see if they like it prior to purchasing their own. They also offer a baby gear cleaning service!
BabyQuip is a game-changer for so many reasons! It’s no wonder they won a 2023 award from Good Housekeeping in the Best Family Travel Awards. BabyQuip has earned over 50,000 5-star reviews for travel lovers just like us!
Where Is BabyQuip Available?
BabyQuip is available in most vacation destinations, such as 30A, the Florida Keys, and larger cities. The website allows you to enter your zip code to see if any providers are available in your area or your travel destination. BabyQuip is also available internationally, with quality providers in cities like Amsterdam and Venice. BabyQuip providers are located in 1500+ locations!
If you don’t see any options and think there is a market for it, consider starting your own baby equipment rental business and becoming a provider on BabyQuip.
How To Use BabyQuip
The BabyQuip website is very easy to navigate! Once you are on the results page for your destination, which is an important first strip, you can browse providers. You can view the selection that each one offers. Or, you can use a search bar to find what you are looking for.
Once you find the baby gear rental you are looking for, always browse the BabyQuip provider’s entire selection. There may be something you need for your little ones and didn’t think of. Some even offer items for purchase, such as diapers and snacks for kids!
However, consider your space. For example, if you were staying in a studio condo on Airbnb, you wouldn’t want to rent large wagons, strollers, or full-sized cribs.
Setting Up Your Baby Equipment Rental
Once you have found the BabyQuip items you would like to rent, you choose a drop-off and pick-up time. Next, you’ll check out and receive your confirmation. That’s it—it’s that easy!
Some BabyQuip providers even offer self-pickup and return to help lower the overall cost of your baby equipment rental. Others will even meet you at the airport with items; however, there is sometimes an added fee. However, it will often be worth it especially for rental car seats.
They also have an app that you can download to manage your account and baby gear rental reservation while on the go!
Communicate With Your Airbnb Host Or Rental Company
As an Airbnb host myself, I know how important it is to communicate with your host, property manager, hotel, or wherever you choose to book your accommodation.
First, read through their listing and see if they include any of these items. For example, our baby-friendly one-bedroom condos include many baby items, including a mini crib, booster, sound machine, bottle rack, puddle jumper, and more.
Second, you want to coordinate delivery and pick-up times appropriately. I recommend always scheduling your drop-off after check-in and once you have arrived. At the end of your trip, schedule your baby equipment rental pick-up before you lock up and depart.
Why? Well, in my case, we almost always have same-day turns, and my cleaners are often in there cleaning right up until check-in. Our condos are small and a big delivery gets in the way. Also, for the safety and security of our guests, I never like to give out door codes to third parties. Plus, some rentals, like cabins or lake houses, don’t have smart locks, making it hard for property owners to give remote access.
