If you follow me on Instagram you probably know this but in order to get caught up here I wanted to share or make sure you all know that we have moved once again! This Fall we found ourselves packing up in Southern California and starting a new chapter in the very southeast corner of Alabama.
Why do you move so much?
We follow Matt’s career and to be honest I like the adventure! We make a goal that we would never have to live somewhere with cold winter again and while Alabama wasn’t on my radar it fits the bill (it’s 74 degrees today). We are actually exactly the same distance from the ocean as we were while in California and we have a whole new area to explore – the Gulf of Mexico. We have done a few outings already and I am in love! You guys — the water is warm and clear and the beaches are soft and white.
And we have adjusted really well in our new town. While I absolutely loved all that California had to offer we weren’t in the best area and didn’t have a neighborhood that was safe and full of life. We found exactly what we were looking for here and the kids have made up for lost time! Every single days they are outside on bikes and scooters, playing and being kids. Sleepovers are abundent and besties are being made. So, our bucket is full right now. My heart is happy to give them that once again.
Oh yeah… and gas is like $1.85 / gallon here. Crazy!
Plus the people in Alabama are some of the kindest and friendliest that I have met. So, I am inspired!
From a blog standpoint I am using my new found good mojo to get caught up. In the next few months I pan to get a lot of content up from some California adventures plus some along the Gulf of Mexico. We have trips planned this year for the Smokey Mountains and Texas, the Midwest and hopefully the Caribbean too! And we have so much to explore in Alabama, Florida and Georgia. So, while I hope you find specific travel and adventure inspiration here… I hope that what you read inspires you to get out with your kids more. Check out a new park, visit a town you haven’t stopped in before, camp somewhere super rad or just go hike more!
And as always I will share our love, our life, our style and what makes us smile.
