Last Friday we woke up with the urge to go somewhere! We didn’t have any plans for the holiday weekend and most places were going to be busy over Saturday and Sunday so decided to run down to Palm Springs for the night. We decided to stay at The Hard Rock Hotel in Palm Springs this time and had a great time! The location can not be beat being just a block away from the heart of downtown. We arrived early in the afternoon and spent a few hours at the pool before heading to Lulu for dinner. We came back to a pleasant surprise — live acoustic music in the lobby. Matt and I had a cocktail and played a few games of life size JENGA with the kids before we all went to bed.
Checkout is at noon so we got in another couple hours at the pool on Saturday morning… calling it quits just before the big pool party which is probably for the best since we had the kids with us.
We had lunch downtown, grabbed some candy from Rocket Fizz and then took the long way home with the top down! We went up and around the other side of the San Bernadino Mountains and stopped by Joshua Tree, Ca to visit the Joshua Tree National Park visitors center. A visit there is high up on our bucket list! Their was a cute little area across the street and Abby hopped out and let me snap a few photos. It was so pretty!
WHAT THEY WORE
I packed the cutest outfits from Marin + Morgan for our little getaway! I am sucker for matching outfits and I can’t resist a crop top so these were right up our alley. They are both wearing pieces from the Havana Nights collection. Jake rocking the Short Sleeve shirt in a size 7. Abby is wearing the Calf Length Circle Skirt and the Sleeveless Crossover Top both in a size 8. I love the little pom detail on the zippers in the back of both pieces! The colors are so vibrant and the material is a light cotton sateen that was perfect for the desert heat.
