So, this feature has been in the works for weeks but I pushed it off a bit and to be honest it makes me teary eyed to write. Watching Denise DeMarchis’ excitement while working on this release made me smile! You could tell that she was in her happy place designing again… especially stuff that her little guys would wear. I am glad that she got to leave her mark on this. And as with everything else she did, I hope that the message of The Good Ones lives on.

Putting this most together was bittersweet because I know that she would have loved these photos of Jake. When I posted his funny photos she would often comment on how funny and cute that he is. And how he must be a lot of fun to be around. So, I hope that you enjoy them as well!
If you are not familiar with The Good Ones here is a little run down. This Fort Wayne, Indiana based company first launched in Spring of 2012 as a design collaboration between One Lucky Guitar and Matilda Jane. The initial line has stand alone pieces and also some to coordinate with some Matilda Jane dresses. (click here to see Jake growing up in these items) They released new items a couple of times after that and fans have been just begging for new stuff since then! This year Denise DeMarchis and Sam McDonald jumped on board with the current The Good Ones crew and dove right in to creating some new goodies for our boys! (and girls too.. the tees are totally unisex). I got to meet and interview Matt Kelley and Sam back in June 2012 while at the Matilda Jane Art Fair. Their passion is contagious and you can just tell that they love what they do. It makes me happy to support the brand. You can read more about them here. And the most fun part is that the designs are centered around a fictitious band called The Final Hurrahs and they are just as sweet as everyone else. Listen to the song that they wrote about Denise.
Also, if you have a minute, watch this video of Matt interviewing Denise. It’s called The Best One. I want to be like them! The smiles are endless! They remind me to keep my passion and to just be happy. It’s that easy.

I’ve got three good ones:). My fav thing right now is when 2 month old baby sis cries, her 2 brothers (6 &3) burst into a rendition of “Maisie, Maisie over the ocean blue, I’m half crazy with all of my love for you” etc (to the tune of “bicycle built for 2”). She almost always stops crying to listen to the goofy boys!

The fact that my little one has the exact same feet as his father.
I have one extra special kid with special needs, who will become a big brother any day now! He is the sweetest boy ever, and I look forward to the brotherly love we are hoping they develop together.

My guy is a definite Good One! He’s our middle child, sandwiched between two girls, and lives up to that fact. Thankfully he is cute…and despite his shenanigans and high energy, he has a heart of gold. He is my sweet mama’s boy who still loves to snuggle in my lap and curl up with me despite going into third grade. He is currently soaking in the tub to try and get rid of lots of fiberglass splinters (don’t ask), and I would love to give him something to look forward to! 🙂

My big TGO has a good heart. He gives the best hugs! My little TGO is my funny one. He makes me laugh each day with the silly things he says and does! I am blessed to have these boys! Love teaching them to be one of the good ones. <3
My guy, Milo. What can I say? He sings all day long. He has insane artistic abilities and can draw better than most adults. He gives hugs that could pop your head off they’re so strong. He loves toys more than anything else besides his family. Most of all, he and his twin sister are our GoodOnes and what keeps us going through these hard times of mike having cancer. No matter what, we have our little good ones! It’s all we need:)
My boys are 4 years apart + they truly love and care for one another, plus they are super protective of me. Their dad is gone a lot (he is fireman) and I feel that they have stepped up to help around the house and show me love…way beyond their years!

My little good one is my bright light.. I can’t get enough of his sweet kisses and right wrap around the neck hugs! He sparks adventure in his sister and that is truly the.most wonderful relationship to watch.
I love when I turn around and my 2 older sons (4&5) are holding hands walking along or while they are in their car sets. Talk about a feel good mama moment. It makes me smile from ear to ear!

I love my good boy Colden’s thoughtful and generous spirit. He loves drawing pictures and making them into crazy, awesome books. Sometimes he thinks of a friend who doesn’t have a toy or video game but has talked about it, and he makes them a little book or gives them something he’s found or doesn’t need anymore.

What makes me smile is that my kids love to hear me sing. I’m a terrible singer and having kids and singing to them while they are little makes you feel like you could win American Idol. They would always ask me to sing and it just made me feel so special 🙂
He always keeps me on my toes… last weekend he drank from the toilet, dumped a half a bottle of baby powder and ate 3 cupcakes off a desert tray when no one was looking… all with a smile on!! Love that crazy kid

Each of my children possess character traits that make me love them so. My 29 year old is so level headed, I am so proud of the amazing woman she has grown into. Our 26 year old is very loyal. Our 11 year old is kind and helpful. Our 9 year old is funny as can be. Our 7 year old is full of wonder and questions that make me die laughing. Our 5 year old is very caring and kind. Our 2 year old is just sweet as can be.

I’m sitting with one of my good ones at a hospital right now. Sweet Xander is 5 and having a little surgery today. He is nervous and hungry and hasn’t eaten all day, but he is smiling at us and snuggling with his fave stuffed animals, waiting for the doctors who are running very late. He’s such a good one.
My children fill my heart!
