Ok, someone pinch me. If what I am seeing is real then I believe that I have hit a sweet spot in parenting. My kids have been playing together non stop. Make believe, dress ups, cars, dolls, art and basically anything. It’s been about a week now. We were late to school twice because I lost track of time basking in the sweet serenity of my coffee while they played quietly in the playroom.
I know that it won’t last forever but it is amazing to watch. Such a relief from the usual fighting, bickering, tattling and screaming. Abby turns 6 in March and Jake 4 in March. I think they just hit a place where he can communicate well and she realized that it’s actually fun to have a built in playmate. Shes not even really bossing him around (that much).
I guess I am going to pick up an extra couple of bottles of wine and some bubble bath and this may just be the best Christmas Break ever.
