You guys all know that the Mighty Acorn Foundation is dear to my heart! I am thankful that my love of Matilda Jane opened my eyes to this effort and showed me just how a small group of people can make such a difference! We love seeing the work they do in Kitale flourish before our eyes in the letters we receive from Selvine.
Today they kick off their second big online fundraising auction and this is one that you can NOT miss. A portion of the proceeds from the auction will be used to sustain ongoing efforts in Kitale, Kenya, while the rest will be set aside to support a new project involving Gigi’s Playhouse. Gigi’s Playhouse (located right here in Illinois) serves children and adults of all ages by providing therapeutic and educational programs at no charge to families, focusing specifically on individuals with Down’s Syndrome. All programs aim to maximize self-confidence and empower individuals to reach their achieve potential….a mission that falls right in line with the mission of the Mighty Acorn Foundation.
This auction is incredible with over 200 items! Many of the items being auctioned off were used in part of their Changing The Face of Beauty Campaign this Fall. Other donations came from both wonderful companies and also individuals who gave clothing, artwork, shoes, jewelry, photo-sessions, time and more. I can’t wait to start bidding!
