We have a print hanging in our home with that quote.
I do believe it’s time for another adventure.
I remember it hanging in our old house back in Kansas. When it was time to make the move here to Illinois I looked long and hard at it. I wrote it on the driveway in chalk the week before we left and took a photo of Abby next to it. When we arrived in Illinois I hung it right outside my bedroom. I stop and look at it every single day, knowing that our time here wouldn’t be forever, wondering what our next adventure would be.
And here we are in November 2016. Heading out on our next adventure to sunny California! We have dreamed of the ocean and of the mountains. We hadn’t thought too much about the desert but that’s ok. It’s a little mysterious to us and we like that.
I haven’t been able to blog much this Fall or even this year. My photography business got busier and busier and my writers block got more and more solid. I love writing but sometimes struggle with sitting down and just starting to type. I hope to write more on this next chapter. Especially about all of the exciting day and weekend trips that we have planned! And I know that our families love ready about our lives and maybe some of you do to.
Our new home will be in Apple Valley, California, north east of Los Angeles and on the other side of the mountains. To say that we are excited it an understatement. I have been thrilled seeing how happy the kids are about this. Maybe I didn’t do a good enough job growing them some roots and circles of friends here. But it’s hard when you know that it is not forever. We will really miss our families though. What an amazing blessing it was that we were brought here for two and a half years while Abby and Jake were young. The kids (along with us) have so many amazing memories to cherish of time well spent with grandparents and so many giggles with their cousins.
Our packers arrive this week and the truck pulls away on Saturday with us following early Wednesday morning. This has been the first time that we have all been able to make the move together which is such a nice change.
And if you are in the area we are heading please feel free to reach out! It felt good just to write a little bit today. These couple of days before the chaos always have me on edge. Anticipation has always been hard for me to handle.
The kids have never even been to California. What an adventure this will be!
I took these photos when Matt and I were out there in October!
